I am a XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX veteran after serving in XXXX in XXXX. I was XXXX XXXX in XXXX. Today, my XXXX-old son is a XXXX in the XXXX XXXX stationed in the west coast. He and I know all about doing the right thing when no one is looking.
After attempting to refinance my VA home loan with the above-mentioned broker, it has come to light that they do not care about doing the right thing when no none is looking nor do they care about doing right by our military veterans.
XXXX XXXX is an agent of mortgage broker, C & E Financial Group , Inc. DBA Vintage Lending. XXXX XXXX is the owner of Vintage Lending. In XXXX of XXXX, with my explicit consent, Vintage Lending refinanced my VA backed mortgage from 6.25 % to 2.75 %. As a XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX veteran, I am exempt from different fees, including property taxes.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I emailed XXXX to inquire about the refinance interest rates he was currently offering to which he replied 1.75 %. I did not hear from XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX, when I emailed him asking about a hard credit inquiry notification I had just received. A hard credit inquiry I did not give explicit permission for. I explained to XXXX that after calling XXXX XXXX at XXXX, they explained to me the hard credit inquiry was processed by C & E Financial Group of Utah. XXXX then calls me and explains that he helped himself to my social security number by searching my file, typing my social security number into his computer and processing a hard credit inquiry. Misleading and unethical business practices.
In the legally obtained recorded phone call, XXXX admits to his misleading, unethical, reckless and unauthorized business practices. He also mentions that if I refinance with them again, I would not be charged any fees because I am XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. The thing is, I was XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX when they refinanced me the first time and I was charged over {$5000.00} in fees. It sounds like their VA loans need auditing to ensure our veterans are not being taken advantage of.
Resolution sought : This mortgage broker should be investigated by having all their VA loans audited and disqualified from processing anymore VA mortgages.
