XXXX/XXXX/2015 XXXX I received an alert that my credit score had dropped and upon checking my credit report I had seen that there was a that bill was was reporting as in collections by the BYL Collections Agency at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , PA. I had no recollection of what the bill was, or if the bill was mine. I had not received a letter or phone call notifying me. Upon calling BYL at XXXX at XXXX, XXXX/XXXX/2015. I was advised of the balance and the hospital in which it originated. The adviser said a letter may have been sent around the XXXX time frame notifying me they had my account. I was given the option to pay it off, but without knowing the specifics of the bill to ensure it was mine, I was not comfortable paying. When asked why no one called or sent another letter due to lack of my response, she said they did n't need to and might send another in a year ( A YEAR ) after the initial letter. I felt it was unfair that my credit was negatively impacted by an outstanding bill I was unaware of. She agreed to send me another letter, after verifying my address. Unhappy with the resolution, I asked to be escalated. When transferred to a 'manager ', XXXX , I was told she did n't need to validate that the debt was mine. She told me that she sent a letter in XXXX, gave me three months to respond, and then put it on my credit. When I advised I did n't receive a letter and felt it was unfair that it was reported without validating the debt was owed to them first by me, she told me it was 'my problem ' and that once she sent a letter, she did n't need to send another XXXX. She just had to send the letter, and what happens to it after she sends it is n't her problem. I said that once I verified it was mine, I was happy to pay it, but could n't have known I had the debt without notification. She was rude and condescending and not being comfortable with the resolution that it was just 'my problem ' and not hers, I asked to be escalated to her manager or a complaints resolution channel. The 'Collections Manager ' refused to give me the name of any higher point of contact ( i.e. her manager, or her manager 's manager, or any higher point of contact at the agency ). She said there is no Executive Office or any channel to file a complaint or have a complaint resolved. I was given the address where I could send a payment. Basically, if I wanted to file a complaint against her, I would send it to her. In all my years as a consumer, I have never been treated so rudely by a 'professional '. My main concern with this issue is that other consumers may fall victim to the same unfair and deceptive treatment and negative impacts I may now be facing due to the negligence and careless treatment of BYL. Currently in the process of applying for a mortgage for a home for my son and myself ( the reason I was alerted of BYL reporting an account I was unaware of on my credit ), I may now be unable to get a mortgage for a home for my son and myself, and I could potential be losing XXXX of dollars over the lifespan of a mortgage loan ... due to a bill I was unaware of, which I would happily pay if notified and validated as mine. There was no contact made to me via USPS, phone, fax, email, etc. prior to this reporting to the XXXX major credit bureaus.

I have credit monitoring services. A collection came through on my credit report this XX/XX/2020. I examined the collection and called the collection company BYL. When I called to verify the debt and try to negotiate a pay for delete ( as I needed it gone because I was in the middle of a VA mortgage contract finalizing ) I was rushed by the representative. She could not verify the debt over the phone but if I paid it that day, it would be removed on the next credit Bureau report day, I believe it was the following Thursday. She pushed and pushed for me to pay that day, using my VA MORTGAGE as leverage, knowing I would loose it if a collection was there at closing. I explained that I never received any mail about the debt and that I wasnt getting my normal mail on time due to the Corona Virus pandemic and the USPS. I was made a promise to delete for payment with the emotional aspect of my mortgage closing in XXXX without issue ( thats not what happened ). I paid in full and kept my end of the VERBAL CONTRACT. BYL collections has not removed the paid collection as they promised but they wasted no time taking my payment. This is a blatant lie. Collection agencies are not allowed to make false promises in order to obtain payment. Debt collectors know that VA mortgages require clear credit for closing and I believe that was used against me to get me to pay without verification of the debt. Backtracking, I was still never issued a verification of the debt as I was promised, it never came in the mail. I did receive an emailed notice of payment received by them. I called several times throughout the months of XXXX and XXXX to verify that the account was to be removed from my credit report. I explain that I was promised a deletion of the account and I am always told that I am a liar and they never do that, which is a lie because all over the internet, others have had BYL accounts removed for full payment. I was also told that I should have paid it before it went to their company. Thats rude. If the mail would have been delivered, I would have paid it. I paid it the day it was reported to my credit. I am always told to call the original creditor, XXXX XXXX XXXX. I did contact them many times. Every time I called XXXX XXXX, I was reassured that they had cleared the account for deletion and that it was expedited for deletion to be sent to the contracted collection agency. If XXXX says to delete it and BYL promised to delete it, why is it still on my XXXX report? I work very hard to keep my credit clear and this one small collection is a severe mar on my financial future. I feel that the current climate with the ongoing pandemic and the effect it has had on mail communications should allow for some leniency from the collection agencies and creditors. If the banks can keep their word and forgive major credit missteps during this time, an agency like BYL should be made to keep their word and hold up their offer of forgiveness to their consumers. This is horrible etiquette and poor business practices. Companies should not be allowed to lie to consumers just to get a payment when they have no intention of keeping their word. I lost my VA mortgage because of this.

To Whom it May Concern, I applied for a lease in XX/XX/XXXX with an apartment complex ; The Academy on XXXX, and signed it in XX/XX/XXXX before knowing that my university would cancel in-person classes nearly six months later. I never paid a security deposit, never paid first and last rent, never paid a single dime to the landlord ; all I did was sign the document. Exactly 30 days before the lease would start on XX/XX/XXXX, I told the landlord over their messaging portal that I want to exit my lease ( despite there being no exit option ). He told me no, and I said I wasn't going to pay it. I got no response back after that. Two months later at the end of XXXX, he sent me an eviction notice and charged me the full 12 months of rent ( which is illegal under Maryland 's rental code ), selling the debt to BYL Collections. I got their written notice a month later around XX/XX/XXXX, responded by certified mail that I was disputing the debt, asked them to verify it, and verified that they received it. This month when I got my monthly credit report, my score had dropped over 100 points due to their inaccurate debt collection. XXXX XXXX on XXXX and now the illegal collection attempt by BYL Collections are taking part in an illegal move to circumvent Covid19 restrictions handed down by the very university which acts in accordance to federal oversight and mandate for social distancing in response to the pandemic. Furthermore, I had acted in good faith before the pandemic and can not be held accountable for the pandemic itself or the aftermath of such a devastating ordeal. While I do not argue that I filed out the application I never paid a cent, never took possession of the property and was never evicted by anyone for any reason. Everything that has transpired has done so on paper by a company intent on bilking me of monies certainly not owed and holding over my head the ruination of my consumer credit files. Furthermore i am including in my documentation the code of Maryland which it is my belief and position that the landlord and by extension BYL Collections is violating, this over and above all the restrictions and federal guidelines in the application of Covid19 safety guidelines and Covid19 consumer abuse. I am asking that this agency intercede on my behalf, review the information and documents and contact the companies mentioned in my complaint, assuring that this issue which they have clearly not taken seriously, is rectified under the supervision of this agency. I am available to speak further on the matter and to provide any other information not provided in this complaint if any.

I use XXXX for most of my health-related issues and they send me out to XXXX hospital for anything test or XXXX. The bill comes to me then I take it to XXXX XXXX for reconciliation. XXXX has me on a scale where I pay a certain amount for each visit, they determine if a bill is cleared completely or a few more I will pay while they clear the rest. Usually, I will follow-up which I did then they give me a clearance. I followed all these steps and got the clearance over the phone that my balance is XXXX. Over a year later, I was going through a program to purchase something when they sent me a letter that something on my record is limiting them from proceeding. I was provided this number and I called. It was " COLLECTION AGENCY ''. I was shocked to hear about my hospital visit that was split into XXXX payments and I should set up a plan to pay. I tried to explain that I was given all clear but the lady speaking to me kept saying I should set up a plan or fax a clearance letter. I then ran to XXXX to replay this conversation I just had with XXXX ; according to the young lady I met, the guy that worked with me no longer works with them but the record they had on me was over a year prior to this bill with a XXXX balance. I further explained it 's strange since the letter I used for the procedure was given to me by the doctor there and faxed to XXXX from there. She went ahead to ask how I knew I was owed since they had nothing like that and I mentioned collection agency. She rose up to say that once things get there that they can not do anything. She could n't even see the lapse from their path even though she agreed the process I mentioned earlier were the correct steps in handling their bills. We could n't resolve this either. Right now, I understand the bill is about $ XXXX and I ca n't afford that let alone the bill I had no clue about. If I had seen the note from collection like they claimed, I would have still taken it back to XXXX but I got none. It was in the process that I told them to update my address since I had moved from where they claimed they sent me a notice. So I do n't know what to do at this point. I went back to the program expert who mentioned this discovery and was told to go online to this site and explain. Hoping to resolve this mystery completely soon.

This company which I have " NO CONTRACT '' with has no legal right to collect on this said debt. Reporting of the debt is a violation of the FCRA. Back in mid-XX/XX/XXXX, I moved out of the college apartment I had been staying in for four years. There were a number of things that needed small repairs, a few drill holes that I patched and some mild discoloration/staining in the bathtub. I assumed that I would receive some charges for these and understood that I should follow-up with the company some time after moving out in order to handle those charges, were my deposit not enough to cover the damages. I was told that any charges would be applied shortly after I moved out and they would notify me of them. Six weeks after moving out, I followed up with the apartment complex and asked if there were any cleaning/repair charges that needed to be paid for, and they provided me with some {$92.00} of charges due. I summarily paid them, and asked the employee if I should expect any further charges, to which they replied " no. '' Come XXXX, I receive a letter from the complex stating that I owe some {$150.00} of cleaning and repair charges that were not previously accounted for. After examining the statement, these charges were applied on the both the XXXX of XXXX and XXXX of XXXX, some ten-fourteen weeks after I had moved out. I attempted to call the complex on at least three occasions throughout the next week, was told that the message would be forwarded to the manager and I would receive a response, and heard nothing. I fully believe that these debts listed are fraudulent, given 1 ) how long it took for them to be listed on my account and 2 ) that I had been told my accounts were settled. The apartment complex ' lack of willingness to discuss these charges serve as reinforcement to that belief. In XXXX, I received a letter from a debt collections agency for this debt. I sent a debt validation letter stating that the debts were fraudulent and that I dispute their validity dated XX/XX/XXXX ( within my 30-day period provided by the FDCPA ), and finally received a response dated XX/XX/XXXX containing that same statement I was sent back in XXXX.

I went to the XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/2012, and there 's a {$920.00} balance that I needed to pay, but I did n't know I have that payment because I moved to a new apartment. So, I did n't receive the payment from the hospital. During these past XXXX years, nobody contacted me about this, and I did n't receive any payment about this either. I received a phone call from XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX, they said XXXX XXXX forwarded this payment to them, so I have to pay it. I paid it immediately after I understood everything, and I paid it through the phone using my credit card. Also, they sent me a document receipt after several days. Recently, I 'm trying to apply a credit card from XXXX, and they reject me because they declare that I have delinquency history, then I checked my credit report. I saw BYL collection services as a negative account on my credit report. I called BYL collect to ask them to remove this negative account because I 've already paid it, and they said they no longer have this payment because they 've transferred this to another collect company, which is XXXX XXXX. They told me that I should call Experian to ask them to dispute my record. However, XXXX agency told me they can not mark this payment as paid because they have to get the prove from BYL Collect. After they get the prove, they will mark it as paid, so XXXX agency suggested me to call BYL to ask them to send a prove to them to prove that I paid. Then, I called BYL collect again, they told me since they no longer have this payment, and I paid to XXXX XXXX, so they can not do anything about this. ThenI called XXXX again to ask them if I can call XXXX XXXX, they said it 's not working because the negative account on my report is BYL collect. I 'm frustrated now because I paid my payment, but the bad record still hurting my credit report. BYL said they could n't help me, but the negative account on my credit report is still BYL collect. I do n't know what should I do now.

1. I start a lease application I never completed, but my guarantor did. I never pay the Application Fee neither deposit ; I never signed neither complete the documents. The signature they have is my name that the system Auto-Filled once I open the box to review the info of the lease and stop the process from completing. 2. They told me that if I did not pay the Application Fee before XX/XX/XXXX, I wouldn't be with any responsibility for the lease. 3. On XX/XX/XXXX, without me paying anything ( application fee, or deposit ), neither completing the signing of the contract, XXXX XXXX charged me with {$2000.00} by phone. 4. On XX/XX/XXXX BYL Collections send me a bill without any description of what was for the amount were XXXX had assigned me a total balance of {$40.00} for XX/XX/XXXX to pay. I thought it was the entire balance I have to pay to end the misunderstanding and not the previous {$2000.00}. I paid the amount. 5. On XX/XX/XXXX, BYL collections agency to contact my brother without billing or contacting me first to notify me of a new total balance of {$3800.00}. Saying that because they had received a payment of {$40.00} in XX/XX/XXXX, they were authorized to charge this new debt. They hurried him to give his credit card information by phone. They had called him three times now. 6. I have never received a call from BYL collections stating the amount they tried to charge to my brother. I never received, even though I asked for, a proper bill stating the debt they say I have with them in XX/XX/XXXX. Neither the bill from BYL I received on XX/XX/XXXX stated as balance the amount of the three months they argued I owed them by that time. They misled me with an undescribed payment of {$40.00}, and now they are claiming that is the payment that makes valid that I had a contract with them and that I owed them {$3800.00} until now.

On XX/XX/2020, I moved out of my apartment at XXXX XXXX, owned by XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX. They alleged that I had caused excessive damage to the walls and carpet and that I should owe {$500.00}. They failed to provide notice of my ability to be present during the inspection and when that inspection would be able to be scheduled as outline in TN Code 66-28-301. I simply received an email with pictures allegedly taken of my apartment after inquiring about the debt. The lady I emailed said she had no pictures of the carpet so she would remove the {$200.00} posted for that and I would only owe {$300.00} for paint. First, the pictures provided appear to be of a dark coloring on the wall that could be black mold they are trying to pass onto me. Secondly, the alleged damage is a superficial discoloration of the walls. Even if this is not black mold, this is certainly not damage resulting from my neglect or abuse. The email claims for this damage to be caused by " bed head '' is from " oils off your head, sheets hitting the walls, wet hair all kinds of thing. '' The first picture shows an area right next to the floor of the unit, nowhere near where my bed was positioned in my room, so oils from my head, sheets, and wet hair couldn't have been a possibility. I tried explaining this to the staff and in XX/XX/2020, but they were unrelenting and have pursued a collections debt against me by BYL COLLECTION SERVICES for the fraudulent {$300.00} charge. I have attached the photos of the collections debt I have on my credit report, photos I received of the alleged unit claimed to be mine, and of other 's photos of black mold to show the comparison.

I received a collections notice dated XX/XX/XXXX from BYL Collections stating that I owed {$190.00} from original creditor XXXX BYL account number : XXXX. When my wife called, she was told that it was for a debt incurred in XXXX. I did not have any dealings with XXXX in XXXX. She asked for a copy of the original bill since we had not received it. She was told they were not required to provide the original bill. A few weeks later, my wife received a collections notice for {$190.00} IN HER NAME with a BYL account number XXXX. This notice stated she did not make the " agreed upon payment amount '' based on the payment plan she made. SHE DID NOT MAKE A PAYMENT ARRANGEMENT with them. On XX/XX/XXXX, we received two additional BYL notices. This time account number XXXX for {$190.00} again stating we did not make the agreed upon payment. The other notice was for a new account number XXXX for an amount of {$30.00}. I have no issues paying my medical bills as my credit report will show you. My point is that I never received any bill directly from XXXX and was unaware of any charges that were due. If these were some type of charges that were denied by my insurance company, I received no notification or bills from XXXX. Just straight to collections and based on this billing, changing names, changing account numbers, I feel that some type of scam is taking place. I don't want negative marks on my credit report. Can you help me?

In XXXX, my mother, XXXX XXXX of XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX . XXXX ), XXXX, XXXX, decided she wanted a medical alert system because of failing health. Since she was hard of hearing, she asked me ( her daughter ) to telephone XXXX XXXX in order to purchase the service. I subsequently called XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX ( tel. ( XXXX ) XXXX to arrange service on behalf of my mother. During my conversation with their representative, I explained that my mother could not speak with them because of her XXXX, but she would be responsible for payment of the service. I then gave the representative my mother 's debit car number which was subsequently charged for 1 year of service in its entirety. My mother passed in XX/XX/XXXX. She had no estate so I notified all creditors, including XXXX XXXX, of her passing. Approximately 6 weeks ago, I received a notice from BYL Collection Services, LLC of XXXX. XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX, ( Tel. ( XXXX ), that they were attempting to collect a debt I owed XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$390.00}. My husband then sent a letter to BYL asking for more information and they simply sent a letter demanding payment with no explanation of why I owed this debt. I feel very strongly that this is an attempt by Medical Alert to collect a phantom debt because I assisted my mother in signing up for the service and they had my name and address which I provided at the time of the transaction.

Upon checking my credit report I noticed that a collection agency by the name of BYL Collections Service had reported a debt in the amount of {$6100.00}. On XX/XX/2018 I sent a direct dispute to this collection agency requesting Validation of the debt with an original contract bearing my signature and a agreement with the creditor that authorizes them to collect on this alleged debt, complete payment history and proof that this agency is licensed to collect in my state. I received a letter dated XX/XX/2018 but not mailed until XX/XX/2018 labeled as " debt verification letter '' showing no contract or anything for that matter with my signature on it but a list of charges totaled at {$6100.00}. On XX/XX/2018 I sent BYL collection services another certified letter stating again to send me validation of debt and original contract bearing my signature by XX/XX/2018 which they have still failed to do and if they could not do so completely delete and remove this collection from my credit file with XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX. I have the right to obtain validation of debt under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) and this company has failed to provide me with that. After sending them the second letter on XX/XX/2018 I have not heard anything from this company but the information still remains on my XXXX and XXXX XXXX credit file. They were not able to validate the account with XXXX and therefore was deleted.

I received a notice from my credit monitoring service in XXXX 2017 that my credit score had dropped. When I reviewed my credit reports, there was a company BYL Management Services LLC claiming I owed a collection debt in the amount of {$1600.00} to them. I 've never heard of this company and have never received any kind of communication from this company about any debt owed to them. I tried to dispute this information with the credit reporting agencies and my disputes of returned with no change. I still have not received anything from this company that I owe them any money or that I ever had an account that went into collections. This is unfair and deceptive as I was never notified that I had a debt owed or a debt that went into collections. I was never sent any kind of written notice from this company to be able to dispute the debt and get validation of the debt claimed to be owed prior to this company placing a collection account on all XXXX of my credit reports, and even still after this being placed on my credit have not heard from this company or been sent any information regarding this debt. This has negatively impacted me, my credit score on all XXXX credit bureaus, and financially because I will be denied extension of credit because if this. According to the FDCPA this is a direct violation of my rights.

The Company BYL COLLECTION SERVICES posted onto my consumer reports stating that I owe them an alleged debt. I have no agreement with BYL COLLECTION SERVICES they have purchased a debt without me being involved in the transaction. This is a duplicate account pursuant to 15 USC 3002 I am a natural person You are a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, who appears to be fraudulently claiming authority of this XXXX XXXX to administrate for the me XXXX XXXX. You will forthwith return and transmit your written evidences of your delegated authority to represent that you and BYL COLLECTION SERVICES is authorized to administrate ( acting trustee ) on I the consumer, together with a certified copies of signatures contract between you and I, you and original creditor, bonds, original creditor Charge-off documents, sureties, indemnification, insurance and any XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Agreement passing I XXXXXXXX XXXX private information to other members, possibly resulting in identity thief. I received a ding in my credit karma app saying I had a negative remark on my credit report. I had no idea what it was referring to and contacted the company to find out that I had an unpaid collection in the amount of {$53.00} that I was never billed for. It was a fee resulting from what my medical insurance didn't cover for a medical item. I was NEVER billed for amount and contacted the collection company to request that they remove this remark from my credit report as I was never sent a bill for this item. I spoke to XXXX in the consumer payment department and was told that they are " unauthorized to report credit charge offs ''. I requested to speak to a manager and was rudely and abruptly put on hold. She then returned and told me that the manager XXXX was unavailable as she just came into the office and would return my call later that day. She never returned my call. Shocking! I was not aware of debt until I checked my credit report and saw XXXX notices from BYL Collections on my XXXX report. I then filed a complaint with Consumer Protection and the XXXX After much back and forth with BYL through the XXXX, it was discovered that BYL had sent notices to an incorrect address and never sent me any notice of any debt and therefore made no attempt to ( 1 ) collect a debt and ( 2 ) no due diligence to ascertain my correct address prior to contacting XXXX BYL therefore stated that they would remove the information from my credit report. However, I have disputed the information with XXXX and each time BYL verifies the debt to them and denies removal of the debt. I have a statement, in writing, through the XXXX of greater Washington from BYL stating that the derogatory marks would be removed once payment was received. Payment was sent by the company making payment on the account at the end of XXXX. BYL needs to find out if payment was made to the original creditor. So, besides the fact that they never gave me notice of any debt that was owed ( neither did the original creditor ), they also have reneged on their agreement to remove the information from my credit report.

BYL COLLECTION SERVICES XXXX. Has sent me a letter stating that they want me to pay a 50 % settlement for the amount of {$130.00} and it looks like the original creditor was referenced as total XXXX. Client account number is XXXX. Unfortunately This BYL Collection Services is a third party collection company that up until this time has NEVER communicated with me. I did send them a letter via mail asking for validation of this debt by supplying to me the original signed contract between myself and XXXX XXXX. First of all, when I disputed this claim, I sent a letter to BYL asking what this was about. BYL Collection Services violated my rights by never contacting me regarding a debt that has supposedly been sent to them for collections. They place a collection account on my credit report without proper notification that I owed a debt with them. BYL Collection Services LLC is trying to collect on a debt that they can not provide proper validation for. No original source document meaning a signed contract between me or even between the original creditor to show this debt is mine has been supplied. Upon review of my credit report, I noticed accounts that were not valid, these accounts were not opened by me. Collection letters were sent by BYL Collections for apartment rental agreement that I was listed as a guantor. I never agreed to or even knew that my name had been used for this.
