On XX/XX/XXXX - I was contacted on my cell phone by XXXX XXXX with Bryant Hodge and associates. He indicated that I owed a debt XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$1800.00}. I asked him if he would email me the details, I would then review them and get back to him.
He sent me 3 different collection letters via email. One that was indeed XXXX XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$330.00}, another for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$960.00} and the third for XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$510.00}. In looking at all three of these - they are addressed to a XXXX XXXX. My last name is XXXX and has never been XXXX. However, my daughter did have a stay at XXXX XXXX 6 years prior - so I investigated that debt. I found record in my credit file that I paid that debt to another collection agency ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) in XXXX, XXXX. It is now being reported as paid and closed on my credit report.
I followed up with XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX with an email explaining XXXX XXXX XXXX debt was paid and the other two didn't belong to me citing wrong last name. I never heard from XXXX XXXX again.
In XXXX, I started receiving phone calls from XXXX XXXX from the same company, Bryant Hodge and XXXX. I contacted XXXX XXXX back and told him the same story above and that I closed this situation with XXXX XXXX. I asked him for a mailing address and I sent him the information I provided to XXXX XXXX along with a separate cover letter addressed to XXXX XXXX and I sent this RETURN RECEIPT CERTIFIED. I received the green postcard back signed by an agent dated XX/XX/XXXX. I never heard from XXXX XXXX again.
In late XXXX, I started receiving phone calls from a XXXX XXXX - again from Bryant Hodge and associates. His messages were firm that " we had an arrangement set up and I'm surprised I haven't heard from you by now '' I can assure you, I never made any arrangements with him or anyone in his office. I returned his call to receive his voicemail and I told him we did not have an arrangement, I don't owe the debt, the last name is wrong and I've told two of his colleagues the same information and that he should not contact me again. Of course, I continued to receive messages from XXXX XXXX with the same message. Obviously, he did not listen to my message or chose to ignore the information so I decided to send him the email/information that I sent his other two colleagues, sending to both him directly and to the " support '' mailbox for the agency. I have not heard from XXXX XXXX since.
However, this company seems to rotate their files to different agents about every 4 weeks. I am sure this is not the last time I will hear from this company so I am filing this complaint. All documentation is attached.

I have no debt currently in collections. Back in XXXX of this year I received a phone call saying I had a debt from XXXX for {$6000.00} and they were offering a half off to settle the debt. They had my full name. I did not provide any personal information but did verify that they had my name correct. I was confused since I currently have a Chase VISA that had a {$6500.00} balance but I was current on payments and had never been late. It dawned on me that this was possibly from an old XXXX debt I had in XXXX that was charged off and no longer owed. I quickly told them this was no longer owed and to stop calling me.
I dont know if they have tried to call back since I have not answered unknown numbers since then and no voicemails since I leave my voicemail full ( due to other personal reason and not this in particular ). People I know only leave text. A few days ago I get the following text with the same amount so this must be the same company. This may be a scam or a collector that purchased a very old debt in hopes to still collect ( I heard this is possible ). Since I advised them not to call they should not be texting me either.

Received text message from XXXX saying, " XXXX, Hey its XXXX. Please give me a call today when you have a chance. Thanks '' Called the number and spoke to a person name XXXX with " Bryant, Hodge & Associates '' about a payday loan from XX/XX/XXXX for over {$500.00} and offering to settle for only {$200.00}. This offer was due to the multiple attempts to contact me to pay this off. I stated that I have not received such attempts and asked him when. He said that this was sent to his office on XX/XX/XXXX and that a notice was sent to me the same day. He also stated that they have attempted to call me multiple times, but no calls received. This was the only notice that they would have sent me, and that they are not going to waste more money to send me letters if I am not going to respond. He mentioned most people are morally obligated to pay this and stated that I am not legally obligated to pay without proper written notice. He told me that they will continue to call me and I said I have yet to receive one phone call, which we stated you will now and hung up.
I called back and spoke to " XXXX '' and he asked for my e-mail address to send a notice. I told him legally he has to send me written notice via USPS and he said fine and hung up.

Days theyve contacted us :XX/XX/XXXX ( twice ),XX/XX/XXXX ( three times ),XX/XX/XXXX ( three times ) Asked me for an email to send me a letter containing the information. They had a random email ( computer generated ) one on file and the letter just stated an amount and said they would sue if not settled.
I contacted XXXX directly to see if we had a debt and they said theyd sent it over to an agency in XXXX and then when I contacted the agency they said they dont have anything linked to our name or social.
The person calling came up as scam likely so and I blocked the number and then hes been calling through an unknown number and texting me.
He first called us through our house phone number which is not linked to any accounts nor was it our number when we lived in another state at the time the account was made. He knows our cell phone numbers which we had changed since moving to another state.

In XX/XX/XXXX I started receiving debt collection notices regarding cell phone bills in my name. After I looked into it I found out someone was using my personal information to get phone service in my name. I contacted the phone companies and they agreed I was not responsible for the debt.
In XX/XX/XXXX I started getting calls from debt collection agencies trying to collect the debt I was not responsible for. I asked these debt collectors to send me a debt validation letter, they never did. I disconnected my home-line due to all the collection calls I was getting but they still call my cell number sometimes several times a day. The most aggressive debt collectors that contacted me are XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX and XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, and XXXX.
After more than 4 years of this abuse from debt collectors I want to file a complaint and hopefully put a stop to it.

Contacted by Bryant Hodge & Associates XXXX about {$3700.00} XXXX account XXXX XXXX spoke to XXXX and XXXX. XXXX I had paid for sold off XXXX debt to XXXX XXXX XXXX Spoke to XXXX XXXX XXXX. It was for account number XXXX.
In house account number XXXX.
I called XXXX to confirm how many accounts I had via my SSN. Only one shows. They gave me contact info to the company that the debt was sold to.
XXXX XXXX. XXXX. They confirmed the account number XXXX was the only account number applicable, and that Bryant Hodge & Associates were working on an error or fraud.
I explained this to Bryant Hodge & Associates and offered my email XXXX to receive debt verification. They declined to do so. I now get calls threatening court summons from them at XXXX.

In the last 60 days I began to receive calls from this number, XXXX. I did not answer. They kept repeatedly calling. I answered the call and they told me they were with Bryant Hodge and Associates and they were trying to collect a bill. I informed them I did not know what they were talking about and to only correspond with me via certified mail. They kept talking and I hung up. They called me Saturday before last three times within 10 minutes. Each time I told them to stop calling, remove me from their list and to only communicate via Certified mail. They called again today and acknowledged that I had asked them repeatedly not to call and yet they were calling. I told them I was contacting the CFPB today and hung up.

The Company Bryan, hodges , & Associates are sending spoofing text messages to me not identifying who they are but are portraying they are a friend and to call them back. Photo is attached. When I attempted to call out of concern the caller did not identify themselves. I was told " XXXX '' was their litigator and then hung up on. I called back to try and gain some information on the company and why they were reaching out. I was met with hostility and then hung up on. I called a third time asking to speak to XXXX. I was told she doesn't accept incoming calls and she is a locator. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and was refused. At no time was I notified my call was being recorded.

Debt was discharged in bankruptcy in XX/XX/XXXX. Received letter XX/XX/XXXX from 3rd party collection agency stating that I still owe original creditor. I called Bryant, Hodges & Associates, spoke to XXXX XXXX & gave them the bankruptcy file number & told them this debt was not valid. He said my lawyer from the bankruptcy did not do their job & that here was an arbitration judgement issued in XX/XX/XXXX & that he was collecting on behalf of that judgement. He was able to finally verify the item was listed in bankruptcy discharge & continued to belittle my lawyer for getting me in this problem in the first place. He was very rude & made me feel victimized for something that is a non issue.

On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email to my corporate email regarding a unknown debt and an attempt to collect this debt. When I return their phone called, I made them aware that I did not own this debt and they continued to harass me and tell me I owed the money without verifying you the original debt holder was. They have the last 4 of my SS # and my work email address, which any one can buy on the internet.
I have also received several phone calls and text messages from multiple numbers.
They are alleging I owe {$750.00} to a company names XXXX XXXX. They can not or will not supply me with more information than that. I have never heard of and I have never borrowed money from XXXX XXXX.

I have received three calls from this company. I do not owe any past due debt to anyone. I will not return these calls. It is a scam and they must cease and desist.
If anyone feels I owe them, it must be submitted in writing and sent to my mailing address. I have lived at the same address for the past 5 years. Any legitimate claims can be made by USPS First Class Mail.

Contacted my employer on the phone and stated that he was going to contact / call everyone at my employer until i paid the debt. Additionally, they called all my relatives harassing them about my debt, while they had all my contact information.
