I completed admission paperwork at XXXX Hospital and was pre-authorized for XXXX by my insurance company. At this time, I was told specifically by the admission representative at the hospital after asking several times that I had to pay a {$100.00} co-payment per my insurance company. This amount was paid and I got the impression that I could not have XXXX unless it was satisfied. I wrote on the admission paperwork paid in full that the hospital kept. Months later, I was contacted by an attorney, Brent Stamps demanding that I pay {$640.00} to the XXXX hospital. It was somewhat confusing to me because I had been told during the time of admission that I was only responsible for {$100.00}. Later, I was contacted by another debt collector requesting {$610.00} with a bill from XXXX Hospital with {$610.00} on it, but not indicating what specifically it was for and why I owed it. It is extrememly annoying to be told to pay additional money to the hospital when the preauthorization from the insurance company indicated what I owed according to the hospital admission/billing representiatve. When I asked how she came up with the {$100.00}, I was told that is what the insurance company indicated that I would owe XXXX. So to come back months later and indicate that I owe additional money when I questioned it earlier is very annoying. The bill sent to me also indicated a XXXX XXXX credit card payment of {$100.00} on it when I do not bank with them. So that too is inaccurate. The hospital stressed that XXXX could not be done unless there is prior authorization from the insurance company but then they misrepresent what is due at the time of admission.

Phone call was received, the medical debt collection agency identified themself as a law firm. No statement regarding this debt has been received and when asked for information he said he would forward it to the attorney. He continued to say this when asked for more information regarding this debt. And he said this XXXX times. He spoke to a spouse regarding this debt, which without prior authorization from me, the patient, I feel is a violation of XXXX. The caller was hostile, threatening and vague. When explained that there was no difficulty in paying the debt once we had received verification of their company, he continued to refuse to agree to send us any information in writing regarding this debt.
