I was contacted by a service and instructed to call XXXX XXXX XXXX about pending legal action. When I called, I was informed that I had been sent a letter about an old debt, and how would I like to handle the situation. As I had not received any letter, I was not aware as to what the law firm was talking about. They referenced a debt that was from a XXXX XXXX credit card, that I no longer have and is nowXXXX years old. I was told that I would have to work out a payment plan or pay full amount. If I failed to act, legal proceedings would begin in XXXX XXXX, CO.
The acct number on the letter they sent was not fully correct. This debt also does not, and has not shown up on any credit reporting check. The only place it showed up was from a credit check that was performed over 10 years ago, and showed as closed.
I contacted XXXX to determine what the status of the debt was. The acct in question was closed in XX/XX/XXXX and the debt transferred to a company called XXXX. This debt was then later transferred in XX/XX/XXXX to a company called XXXX XXXX. XXXX is no longer in business. XXXX XXXX XXXX was only opened in XX/XX/XXXX.
I have had the same email and cell phone number since XX/XX/XXXX, and have never been contacted about this until XX/XX/XXXX.

Bennette and associates are calling threatening to sue for a debt that clearly is unknown or owed They gave me this case or reference number XXXX Their address is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ca XXXX The agents were very rude they called my husband and did not allow him to ask certain questions anytime he asked them to stop calling us they tried to over talk him so that his request did not get recorded. The guy name was XXXX he's a fast talker and very rude
