On XX/XX/2021 at XXXXXXXX XXXX, I received a voicemail from a person identifying their name but no reference to an organization, requesting a call back regarding a notice that was recently sent out regarding the federal student loan forbearance and relief program expiring, and that she wanted to ensure I don't lose any potential pre-qualified status for loan forgiveness or loan discharge, further noting that she would go over these details upon a call back. I later learned this company to be BCO Consulting Services. She requested a call back at XXXX. I interpreted this message as a representative of the US Department of Education itself, which to my understanding regulates the rules and regulations around loan forbearance, or a representative for a firm directly contracted by the US Department of Education, contracted by the US Dept. of Ed. to assist borrowers in re-initiating their loan payments after an extended period of COVID-19 forbearance that was offered to all borrowers, to my understanding. I called XXXX back on XX/XX/2021 at XXXXXXXX XXXX and was greeted by a different representative than whom left me a voicemail. This representative did not identify himself or the company, rather immediately started asking me questions regarding caller verification, loan status, income, and tax filings. He was able to provide me accurate information about my student loans that I assumed would only be privy to my loan servicer and lender, further giving them credibility in my mind that this was an official representative of the Dept. of Ed. or an associated contractor. He also was able to change my studentaid.gov login information given information I provided him or that he had available, to which he provided me this new login information. Again, my understanding was that this was free assistance in re-initiating my loan repayment, after an extended period of forbearance. This representative then quoted me an income-driven repayment option that was associated with the lowest monthly repayment amount, quoting me an income-based repayment plan at $ XXXX. for 240 months, with the first 4 months at {$240.00}, set on an auto-payment schedule. This representative advised that after 4 months of auto-payments, my loan servicer would then take over repayments. He then allowed me to request a specific auto-payment schedule. He asked me to provide either bank account information or a credit card to setup the auto-payments ; I provided him with a credit card. He then guided me through signing a contract for this repayment plan over the phone, without discussing any details of the contract or asking if I had any questions, simply directing me to sign and initial in certain areas on an electronic contract he emailed. Finally, this representative advised I am to submit financial documents, specifically a 30 day pay stub or my last year 's tax return to an email address he provided within 5 days. On XX/XX/2021, I contacted my current student loan servicer, and discussed this experience with a representative to verify its legitimacy, after later having the sense that it didn't feel legitimate. This representative advised I call the FTC to report this and provided their number. She advised that the first 4 payments would be going directly to this alleged consulting firm, and none of these funds would be directed towards repayment of my student loans, as I was led to believe. Upon running financial assessment tools used by my official servicer, this representative could not verify any loan repayment option that came even remotely close to what was quoted to me by the third party consulting firm.

I received a call from BCO consulting services on XX/XX/2021 claiming that they are working with the department of education. They told me that I'm eligible for a forgiveness plan called revised pay as you earn ( REPAYE ), but I need to make 4 payments of {$240.00} each month for a total of {$990.00}, and after that, I will have to pay XXXX if my income stays below XXXX a year. So the remaining of my loan {$98000.00} will be forgiven for the time I'm making less than XXXX a year. They asked me to provide 2 recent pay stubs, and I will have to submit that yearly to be eligible. The contact person was XXXX XXXX, phone # XXXX ext XXXX, fax is XXXX, email is XXXX. Website : XXXX Address : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, CA XXXX They claimed that they are affiliated with the department of education and federal loan. However, when I contacted federal aid they told me that they are not affiliated with any third part and this is probably a fraud. So that's why I'm reporting this to the department of education as well. I want to make sure that they will not use my SSN, driver 's license number, or other personal information to take a loan on my behalf or do any fraudulent activity using my information. Also, if you can place a notation or a pop-up on my account so if any contact or documentation comes from this company to be considered fraudulent and please do not work with them on my behalf. Thank you so much, and please let me know if I need to do anything to protect my federal loans I will attach the document that they made me sign to be eligible for loan consolidation and revised pay as you earn program. It has the department of education logo or name on multiple pages.

BCO Consulting reached out to me in XXXX claiming to be partnered with the Dept. of Education and would help me with student loan forgiveness for my entire fed loan balance of $ XXXX. At the time, I was dealing with the pandemic and stated I could not make any payments as they were requiring for payment installments of {$350.00} initially to enroll in their program. First red flag, they charged my account without me signing any payment authorization form. I was able to resolve this and got a refund. In XXXX XXXX, I started making the installments of {$240.00} for 4 months to enroll after explaining {$350.00} was too high. They explained that after enrolling, my payments would be $ XXXX for XXXX years and then the $ XXXX fed loan debt would be forgiven. After a year of making payments, my student fed loan balance is EXACTLY the same and they have done absolutely nothing. I emailed them the week of XX/XX/XXXX and requested to stop ALL payments in writing and for details on where these payments have been going since my balance is the same. They responded to my request to cancel future payments via email on XX/XX/XXXX and stated Id be disenrolled in the program. They STILL charged me for {$39.00} this month on XX/XX/XXXX after confirming they would not withdraw any funds from my account. I sent several follow up emails on my other concerns and requested a FULL refund from all the payments Ive given them, and they are not responding. I also tried calling and was unable to get a hold of someone. This is the biggest scam/fraud I have ever experienced. I wish I had done more research!

A few days prior to XX/XX/2021 I received a call about student loan forgiveness. I was told they are working for the U.S Department of Education, working with Public Service Loan Forgiveness. On XX/XX/2021 I called back to discuss forgiveness options. I was told I would have immediate relief and very small monthly payments. I was told that my other loans would be taken care of immediately and upon looking today, XX/XX/2021, and I still have my student loans due for this month. I was told I would have 4 monthly payments to start of {$190.00}. They automatically took out {$190.00} on XX/XX/2021, and it will happen again this month on the XXXX. I believe I am being scammed due to reading upon reviews of this conpany. All of my sensitive information was taken right off the bat and I, unfortunately did not give a second thought to it. I was not told where or even who my payments were going to. Looking upon my bank statements on XX/XX/2021, it looks like it's called BCO Consulting Services. They were insanely friendly and were intently knowledgeable with everything, which is probably why I didn't think twice about it.

A company called BCO Consulting Services reached out to me in XXXX of 2021. They claimed that they could consolidate my student loans and apply for debt forgiveness through their program. They claimed they work with the Department of Education and had enough of my information for me to believe it was legit. I never gave them any of my personal information other than my name and email address and then later my credit card to pay for my income driven repayment plan that they signed me up for. They did consolidate my loans with my loan servicer XXXX XXXX and I have been making payments to them for a little over a year now, however, I just reached out to XXXX XXXX and none of those payment have been applied to my student loan balance, so it is just a scam. I have terminated any future payments to them and requested that they cancel my " income-based '' repayment plan and cease all future communications with me regarding any payments due. I had my loan servicer file a report on my behalf and am reaching out here and with the FTC.

On XX/XX/XXXX, I was told that I was prequalified for a student loan forgiveness program from a voicemail left by a woman named XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called the number back ( XXXX ) and spoke with a man whose name was XXXX XXXX from BCO Consulting Services, located in California. During our conversation, I was told I would have to submit monthly payments in the amount of XXXX in order to receive student loan relief. Additionally, I was also required to fill out a Service Agreement form. When I contacted my school XXXX XXXX University XXXX and told them about this, they relayed to me that there was no such thing associated with my institution and it was a scam. Now, this company is charging me {$190.00} monthly. This amount has not yet been charged to my debit card, but I received an email recently XXXX XX/XX/2021 ), indicating that it will be cleared in two to three days. Please help me with this situation. After receiving more insight about this company, I no longer want to be associated with it any further. Thank you.

On XX/XX/2020 I had a conversation with BCO Consulting Services. They had me convinced that they would help manage my student loans through an income based forgiveness program for a service fee of {$990.00}, which I recently discovered to be false information. They had me sign some paperwork - all of which was read thoroughly which tells of how convincing they were. I will attach that paperwork to this claim. Overall, they have taken {$390.00} XXXX {$190.00} on XXXX XXXX, {$190.00} on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX. My complaint is that they claimed to be working with my student loan providers, but I called my student loan provider and they directly told me that they do not work with 3rd party organizations, therefore, they do not work with BCO Consulting Services. So, I am requesting my money back from this organization because they falsely told me that they could work with my student loan provider, when in reality, my student loan provider does not and will not work with them.

I have fallen for a student loan forgiveness scam. BCO Consulting Services called me a couple weeks ago, telling me I would be approved for student loan forgiveness. Up to {$15000.00} taken off my debt. I couldn't believe it. Their sales pitch was extremely believable and I gave them my info. Everything made sense, and all I wanted to do was get my student loan deducted as much as I could. After realizing what I did and knowing now I SHOULDN'T of done that, I called them to cancel my student loan forgiveness program before the first check was deducted. I got multiple emails that they cancelled my service, but today I got charged for the first deduction. It isn't even taken out of my XXXX account. I'm so scared, I don't have a job and I need this money refunded. Please tell me what I should do next. I am a victim of a student loan forgiveness program FRUAD.

BCO consulting services tried to say they could get me a federal public service loan program forgiveness. They wanted to charge me 5 monthly payments before even being approved of the loan forgiveness from the US Department of Education. The US Department of Education told me I was scammed.
