We took out this interest only XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. The interest rate went up so high we were having trouble paying it. We tried to refinance it for 3 years with XXXXXXXX XXXX, but equity and debt-to-income was a problem, so we were unsuccessful. In XX/XX/XXXX we filed a XXXX XXXX. The last payment we made on this debt was in XX/XX/XXXX. It reached it final maturity on XX/XX/XXXX. It is now owned by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and they are threatening foreclosure. The statute of limitation has run out on this debt. It's been over 15 years. I am working with a lawyer and XXXX XXXX and their lawyers refuse to even respond to my lawyer regarding the matter of this old debt. My husband passed away XX/XX/XXXX the house was in a trust, and I am the successor trustee.
