A debt from a home owners association 's dues I never knew I owed, had a partner equally responsible owing home owner association was notified but never paid the debt nor notified me. I had move a couple of years before the debt became delinquent. The home owners association turned the late dues over to a collection agency. The agency apparently sent all correspondence to my partner but never to me. They finally to us to civil claims court but never notified me. Got a judgment from the civil claims court but I was never notified of the judgment. Finally, the collections agency alone with their attorney file and received a judgment lien against my home. I never knew the lien was recorded on my property until a year later when the collections company sent a letter letting me know they where prepared to act on the judgment. This was the first I even knew of the original debt. I called and told them I wanted to go back to court which was now over XXXX miles away from my new address to fight this in court. They agreed I was never notified properly of the debt or the judgment, but I 'd lose as the debt was still owed and add more fees to my original balance due plus interest. Once I knew of the debt I paid the collections agency and got a release of the lien, however it still remains on the county records as a judgment and on my credit report.

In XXXX I fell victim to an online payday lender, XXXX. This company is owned by the XXXX XXXX XXXX tribe and was a scam. Neither XXXX or XXXX XXXX are licensed in the state of CA therefore, any and all loans or agreements are null and void. I received multiple calls and was harassed at work by XXXX, until I made them aware that they are not licensed and they need to cease and desist. The calls stopped and I had not heard about them until recently. I checked my credit report as I had been being turned down for things and I noticed my score dropped. XXXX XXXX sold this illegal debt to a company named Baker Recovery Services - I immediately initiated a dispute with the credit reporting agencies, and I also emailed the owner of Baker Recovery Services. I let her know this debt is illegal and it is illegal for her to be reporting it on my credit report. She would not give me their license number either, and kept giving me the runaround. When I asked more questions she stated she would not longer email but would speak with me on the phone due to me threatening her. I was n't threatening anyone. I was exercising my legal rights. I need them to remove the illegal debt from all of credit reports and not to sell it to anyone.
