On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I was contacted at my place of employment by a person calling himself " XXXX. '' He said he was a processing agent and had legal paper to serve me at my workplace and papers to give to my HR department to start garnishing my wages. He advised me to contact XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX to stop the process of serving me. He would not give me a callback number or tell me what company he worked for. The called id was UNKNOWN. He called may office phone several times in a row and also spoke to our receptionist and left a message with her. I contacted AMP and then was told it was Asset Mediation Partners and the I had taken out a payday loan with XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX and had defaulted on said loan which is fraud and theft by deception. He said I could only pay the {$1400.00} by credit, debit, or PREPAID card. I asked for a debt verification letter which was emailed to me. I then called XXXX XXXX XXXX to verify that I had an outstanding debt with them. They informed me that I do not and never had. Their records do not match my name, address, or social security number. I called Asset Mediation Partners back and told them the debt could not be verified. The person then advised me to call XXXX XXXX XXXX to verify their records. I told him I already had and the debt could not be verified and I did not owe it. I asked him to send me a copy of the papers I was to be served with and he told me he had no idea what those papers contained. He claimed the " location service '' has the paperwork and he is not familiar with what would be in them in the State of Ohio. I asked him what paperwork would be given to my employer in order to garnish my wages and again he could not answer the question. He then advised me to call XXXX XXXX XXXX 's corporate office, which I already had, in the morning and then call him back. The debt does not belong to me. I did email back a letter to advise them to not contact me at my home or place of employment anymore and that I am filing a claim with the CFPB. I also looked up their website athttp : //www.assetmediationpartners.com and the phone number they list on their website is not a working phone number.
