I had a car impounded that was not in my possession on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX by XXXX and towed by XXXX XXXX and was not notified of the impound by XXXX XXXX. Everyday the car is held there is {$33.00} in storage fees assessed. The first notice received was from the DMV for a lien sale 84 days later with incorrect fee information at {$230.00} and no tow date to verify the fee was correct. At that point had racked up almost $ XXXX in fees. Since then the car has been sold and the balance that was left after applying what the car sold for was sent to collections in the amount of {$2100.00}. I sent Ascension Recovery Management a letter via fax on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX disputing the debt on the grounds that I was never notified by the original creditor XXXX XXXX that they had the car impounded and was only notified by the DMV almost 3 months later. I received a call back within the hour from someone that worked for Ascension who quickly escalated the call to XXXX, a supervisor. XXXX stated that she could validate the debt by what was required by law by CRA Debt Validation form but would not do anything more beyond that. I asked for a copy of the original letter of notification from XXXX XXXX letting me know that they had my car impounded. She said that she does not have a copy of that and believes XXXX XXXX does not have a copy of it either. I spoke to XXXX XXXX in the previous month and they did state that they in fact do not have a copy of the letter I am requesting. The reason I am asking for a copy of this letter is because I am suspecting that it was sent incorrectly to the address the car was previously registered to. When I spoke to XXXX, she confirmed the number on file was the phone number attached to the old address, not what I had updated the DMV with on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. I tried to reason with XXXX letting her know that what I wanted was a copy of the original letter notifying me that the car was impounded with XXXX XXXX near the date of impound as required by law. With that letter we can validate the debt to being mine and correct. If I received this letter I would not dispute the collection. XXXX stated that they would not send me a copy of this letter nor would they remove this collection from my credit report. She said I had to wait for the collection to go away on its own ( which it will in a few months ) She got frustrated going in circles with me so she said " had a good day '' a few times and hung on me. I come from a customer service background and hanging up on a customer is not an appropriate response to conflict. I could understand a hang up if I was being rude or disrespectful. I felt like she was treating me like I was making a frivolous request, especially after she hung up on me.

On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a call at my work, from XXXX XXXX saying she had to speak with me right away. I tried calling her back on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with a XXXX XXXX who wanted my date of birth and social security number yet refused to disclose who he was and why he was contacting me. On their recorded line, I told him I am not to be called at work, I dont know why they are calling and It sounded like a scam so I ended the call. XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX calls me at work again and leaves a message. After work, I call her back to have a bantering conversation with her and she told me the last 4 digits on my social security number, by saying the first and third number were the same, I said yes and she then identified herself as a debt collector for Ascension student loans for my non payment of over {$200000.00} in student loan debt. I told her this was a case from XXXX of identity theft and the first part of my SSN is NOT matching their records, the other persons birthday is in XXXX and the debt is not line and to never contact me again. She said she can contact me. I told her I dealt with this claim with the CFPB and she started getting nervous. She is with XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX. XXXX XXXX

This debt is not mine and I am disputing it in its entirety. I am requesting debt validation. The letter I received doesnt include a date that shows when it was written or sent to me. According to 12 CFR Part 1006.34 ( c ) ( 2 ) ( vi ), they were supposed to provide me with the itemization date / transaction date and they did not. The letter does not specify what the alleged debt is for, how it was calculated, or shows any proof that debt is in fact mine. ( See attachment ). Once again, I am requesting proper debt validation along with the name and address of the original creditor. A letter has been sent to this company via certified mail and has been received.

I am responding to a letter I recieved in the mail indicating that I owe a fee of {$1500.00} for a vehicle of which I do not own any longer. The letter was sent out to me on XX/XX/2016. I have not been the owner of this vehicle as of XX/XX/2016 as the vehicle was repossessed. I have paid all fines and tickets pertaining to the vehicle while it was in my possession. I am not obligated to pay the stated amount in any form or fashion. This response is an attempt to debunk this claim of debt. I would like to know why I recieved such a letter.

I sold my car in the California Cash for clunkers program last year. This year I received an erroneous collection agency ( Ascension Recovery Management, LLC ) charge for a payment of {$1400.00} dated XX/XX/2021 related to some tow yard issue with the car after my sale to California. They have been unwilling to provide support for why this charge was levied to me or how they got the car or how to resolve.
