I leased a car from a car lot in XXXX for a used XXXX XXXX. I was paying payments for up to 8 months however within that 8 months I had to return the car to the lot on 3 different instances due to the car unexpectedly shutting off and not starting causing me to get the car towed to the lot each time. Each time they kept the car for a full month and a half with a band aid over the problem, hints the returning it 2 more times after the initial incident for the same problem. After the 3rd time I was frustrated and voiced to the car lot I wasnt happy with the car and was interested in a trade in. They refused this exchange so I stopped making payments and received a repossession to which I returned the car in XXXX. So now here it is XXXX and the company XXXX XXXX is still charging fees to my credit report about this car. The original amount of the car was {$11000.00} at the time of XX/XX/XXXX. Now its at the amount of {$20000.00} as of XX/XX/XXXX. The status on the account says closed but that isnt the case. I have reached out to the company to try to resolve this issue and they refuse to work with me. They have stated that they ended up selling the car to an auction shortly after I returned the car. So Im unclear about how they can still report fees to a closed account on a car I am no longer in possession for. This main account is a big negative effect on my credit report and Ill like to get it removed indefinitely.
