On XX/XX/2023 I responded ( via phone ) to an offer received by mail from Auto Approve to refinance my car loan. The representative I spoke with on the phone collected personal/financial information from me to create an account. Before providing my social security number, I asked if there was going to be a hard inquiry on my credit report and was told not at this time. We kept going through the process and then came to a point where a hard inquiry was needed in order to proceed. I declined to proceed, and when asked why, I stated that I did not want a hard inquiry added to my credit report at this time. I thanked the representative for her time and the call ended. Minutes after the call ended, I received notifications from XXXX and XXXX XXXX alerting me to the fact that a hard inquiry from Auto Approve hit my credit report. I called Auto Approve back immediately and the new representative looking at my account read the notes the last representative made, most notably " client declines to proceed with hard credit inquiry. '' This representative said that the last representative definitely did not follow procedure and that an inquiry should never have been made. I requested that the inquiry be removed from my credit report but the representative on the phone said they weren't able to but a manger would be able to assist. I was also told that a manager could not be conferenced in to the line and that I could not be transferred to a manager but one would call me back if I provided my call back information. I provided that information but did not hear back that day. I called back the next day and explained what occurred again and received another apology/promise that a manager would call me back, but did not receive a call. I then called the next three days and was told the same thing. A manager never called me back. I would like this remedied by the hard inquiry being removed from my credit report. This inquiry resulted in a credit downgrade from " XXXX '' to " XXXX, '' which significantly affected an event in my life. Attached below is the initial ( and only ) written correspondence from Auto Approve.

XXXX I started a refinance load with Auto Approve to reduce my XXXX XXXX to more reasonable XXXX XXXX I refused gap insurance. XXXX XXXX assured me that he got me XXXX XXXX ( never saw it on contract ). Last Friday I received my first contact from XXXX XXXX XXXX and saw {$1100.00} added to the loan and the Interest Rate was XXXX!! HIGHER than the loan that was paid off. I now had a loan that was now higher interest and {$1100.00} higher?! Being a retired XXXX XXXX XXXX here in Florida,, I realized I had been taken advantage of and lied to and possibly a victim of a Predatory Scam. XXXX and on fixed income this is devastating to me.
