On XX/XX/XXXX, I, XXXX, and my husband went into a debt resolution agreement with Americor Financial XXXX. ( Americor ) to get our debts consolidated, to include one loan with XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) belonging to me, and one loan from XXXX XXXX XXXX belonging to my husband. On XX/XX/XXXX, Americor Financial Inc. reached a settlement with XXXX XXXX XXXX for the account belonging to me, in the amount of {$4300.00}. There was an initial payment of {$350.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, and then {$350.00} every month for the next 11 months. The last payment to XXXX XXXX XXXX for my account was made XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX ( XXXX ) to inquire about a separate issue. I spoke with a lady named XXXX. After that issue was resolved, XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX then informed me that my XXXX XXXX XXXX loan was sold to them XX/XX/XXXX. I informed XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX that Americor Funding Inc. should have contacted them because I was in their debt consolidation program. XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX said they were never contacted by Americor Funding Inc. I then said I will contact Americor Funding Inc. to find out what is going on. Before contacting Americor Funding Inc., me and my husband went on our Americor Funding Inc. account online and noticed that both XXXX XXXX XXXX accounts had the same account number, but different loan amounts. At that point, we contacted Americor Funding Inc. to see what was going on. Americor Funding Inc. informed us it was a discrepancy, but, was not clear on the exact nature of the discrepancy. I then told Americor Funding Inc. How is there a discrepancy when we had two separate accounts and different last names. Also, you all ( Americor Funding Inc. ) emailed us a letter on XX/XX/XXXX showing the settlement with my XXXX XXXX XXXX loan and another letter showing the settlement with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for my husbands XXXX XXXX XXXX loan. The letter for my loan shows that my loan was paid off by Americor Funding Inc. to XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. The letter for my husbands account shows that the first payment made from Americor Funding Inc. to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX was on XX/XX/XXXX. In addition to all of that, Americor Financial Inc. knew the XXXX account was sold to XXXX, but failed to inform me and my husband. Americor Funding Inc. suggested they wanted to use additional money from our XXXX account, to pay XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for my loan, that has already been negotiated, and was already being paid to XXXX XXXX XXXX. Me and my husband quickly said NO, why would we pay or negotiate for an account with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, when it was already being paid to XXXX XXXX XXXX? On XX/XX/XXXX, we called XXXX to inquire about both loans. The number on the XXXX website led us to XXXX XXXX XXXX, the company that owns XXXX. We spoke with XXXX XXXX, from XXXX XXXX XXXX, and he was far from helpful. We asked if XXXX XXXX XXXX or XXXX XXXX XXXX was receiving payments for my loan, with the last payment being on XX/XX/XXXX? XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX stated, Yes. I than asked, Why would you all sell an account that yall went into agreement with, with Americor Funding Inc.? He responded with, What do you think? We shouldve held on to only your account? This is a business. It was a business decision. I then replied, You dont sell peoples account, because now this other company is coming after me for a loan that you sold them, but yet, you are still receiving money from Americor Funding Inc. for it. I told him ( XXXX XXXX ) I was going to get a lawyer and seek legal advice from my military JAG office. But I assume he hung up prior to me finishing that last statement. On XX/XX/XXXX, after being on the phone with XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX, I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to let them know the issue going on with XXXX XXXX XXXX, and they informed me they were going to put my account in Dispute status, and for me to mail them the documents from Americor Funding Inc. stating that my loan was negotiated and paid off. I am filing this complaint because I feel as though something should be done to/about Americor Funding Inc., XXXX XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX. Neither of them seem to have peoples best interest at heart and, has caused me unnecessary stress. Point 1 : Americor Funding Inc. followed up with XXXX XXXX XXXX and knew the account was sold, but didnt communicate that information with me and my husband. Americor Funding Inc. wanted to spend additional money from my XXXX account, to pay XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for my loan ( which had one payment left to be paid off ), even though they ( Americor Funding Inc. ) negotiated and settled with XXXX XXXX XXXX for my loan. They ( Americor Funding Inc. ) showed no remorse or no sympathy. If they are doing this to me, as an XXXX XXXX XXXX, there is no telling who else they are doing this to. Point 2. XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX should be held accountable as well. XXXX XXXX XXXX negotiated and settled my loan with Americor Funding Inc., and were in the process of selling my loan account 2 months later. Also, XXXX XXXX XXXX did not inform XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that they ( XXXX ) already received and accepted a negotiated settlement and was receiving payments from Americor Funding Inc. XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX was very rude and disrespectful. He offered poor advice. He said to take XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to court. I feel as though you should investigate every account that Americor Funding Inc., XXXX XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX has. I feel as though the treatment I received, and disregard for my current situation, is unacceptable. This makes me believe these companies are doing this to most, if not all their clients. I am in the process of renewing my XXXX XXXX to be a XXXX XXXX in the US XXXX, and Americor Funding Inc., XXXX XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX are holding me up tremendously. I am requesting termination of my contract with Americor Funding Inc. right now, and also requesting I be refunded my money in the XXXX account. With the $ 5K+ in the XXXX account with Americor Funding Inc. , I could use that to negotiate myself, and then start making payment arrangements with my creditors. If granted, I would not be going through the current issues I am having regarding my XXXX XXXX and stressors to my health.

Please see the attached letter submitted with Americor and Credit 9. This letter clarifies all of my grievances with Americor funding including but not limited to improper explanation of the lending process, improper explanation of how my credit score would be affected as well as repaired, improper information on how this debt consolidation lender would handle my case. While I truly appreciate your professionalism I strongly feel that the program offered by Americor is a deep rooted predatory scam preying on the desperation of it's ill informed clients that includes clear bait-and-switch tactics as well as blatent and egregious misrepresentations brought across by the agents that enrolled me into Americor 's program. The first issue I encountered by Americor is the targeting of new members through written marketing materials followed by a call with a trained professional that verbally promises a 0 % interest rate loan would be provided for 12-18 months from the time of the loan 's initiation date which was made to sound as a guarantee and works quite effectively at enrolling new clients. As per my conversation with Credit 9 they let me know that that 0 % interest is absolutely non-existent and actually stands at 16 % for New York which according to our conversation is the lowest rate you have seen. This is the first tactic that is incredibly deceptive and violated my rights as a consumer. The next issue is the guarantee by Americor 's agents of : " once debt to the 5 creditors enrolled in Americor 's program has been negotiated and paid in full, since Americor is a lending company not a debt consolidation company '' ( my debt advisor 's words on a recorded conversation ) the IRS would never receive a 1099 from the debtor for income earned. I repeatedly asked if she was certain of this and she repeatedly told me not to worry. There would NEVER be a tax form sent by the creditors because the loan would pay them back and no debt is consolidated thereby no income was earned. This again is blatantly deceptive by the Americor representatives as I just received a 1099 form from two of the creditors that have been paid with the Credit 9 loan. In addition, you have advised me during today 's conversation that this was a stipulation in the agreement that I signed with Americor which of course I had not read all the details in full as the advisor and another party read off the contents of the contract they deemed important and I was rushed through the e-sign process by my advisor. I was under the impression that both conversations should be archived as it was told to me that the conversations were being recorded. My third concern is regarding a false promise made by Americor in regards to getting my credit fully back to where it started after a year of enrollment into this program. This is a MAJOR reason I entered into Americor 's program to begin with. I was promised by their representatives that as long as I followed the program 's guidelines my credit which was above 740 when I first entered this program would be repaired by paying off the creditors in full. Now my score is XXXX which deeply affects my ability to persue job opportunities, starting a family and other major factors determining my and my family 's future. In addition XXXX XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX all either significantly dropped my line of credit or in XXXX 's case closed my line of credit in its entirety while still holding me to the balance owed. I was assured by my advisor that once I receive my loan from Credit 9 that all RAM payments to Americor made on time ( which they all were as I have been perfect with my payments ) and all of the debts settled ( 4 out of 5 enrolled accounts have been settled in full in XX/XX/2019 XXXX would reflect on my credit report by the middle of XXXX. Thus far no improvement has been shown on my XXXX, XXXX, or XXXX reports and my FICO score is still in shambles. Lastly, Americor also promised a debt adviser would reach out to me every few months to go over the state of my finances. It has been almost 6 months with no follow up. I'm beyond upset at the unbelievable level of illegal and aggressive predatory practices blatantly and callously engaged by Americor 's representatives and will be persuing this matter with the XXXX, legal representation in pursuit of a class action lawsuit and via every channel of media available to me to expose the falsehoods promised by Americor unless a expedited remedy is brought by either Credit9 or Americor to follow through and take accountability for the promises made by your representatives. Should a immediate resolution fail to be met, I am formally requesting a copy of each phone conversation 's recording between myself and Americor 's representatives in addition to copies of any and all documents, and marketing materials sent to my residence : XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, Ny, XXXX as well as any additional documentation or contract I was baited into signing by the false nature of each promise. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email should you have any information that may remedy the mess created by false promises from a team that were supposed to help not hurt me. Best Regards, XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX CC : XXXX XXXX Show more

At the start of XX/XX/XXXX I entered into a debt settlement agreement with Americor Financial. I had accumulated enormous credit card debt when my dad and brother passed away from different cancers and I was spending alot of time in hospitals and helping my mom with their care. The representative @ Americor, XXXX XXXX, was a slick talker who said he'd been with the company for 9 yrs. He explained how the XXXX account was set up, how after 15 months, with good payment history, that I could get a line of credit where Americor paid everyone off and I'd just make one payment to them. That my credit score would rebound when this happened. During that 15 months I made double payments probably 7 or 8 times, as I could. There was one month when I asked to delay the payment and double the following month, that was when my dad died. They said no problem, no negative effects, and I made a double payment the following month. As far as I was aware this was the only glitch. When the 15 month time frame came up ( last XX/XX/XXXX ) I was told I'd have to wait another 18 months because I was late on a payment. I said that is not correct, which payment was I late on? They said the 1st payment. I was extremely upset because I am very proactive and calling customer service all the time to ask questions on details. At the start of the program, I tried to email and call Mr XXXX and was told he'd left the company. Throughout the 1st 15 months, I would speak with negotiators, take their direct #, then when I tried to call back to talk to that individual was told they were no longer with the company. This happened with at least 3 negotiators. There was NO continuity with advice I was given. Many times I'd get someone on the customer service line who was new, who gave me false incorrect information ( such as when to make my 1st payment ), and I'd constantly be put on hold because I'd ask questions that the agent had to check with someone else to be able to answer. Over and over I would get conflicting information from these people and they did everything possible to keep me from talking to an actual negotiator. Over the months they made payments to some of the creditors and I was so upset when last XXXX I would not get the line of credit, knowing that my credit score would be in the gutter for another 18 months. They would not listen to me when I told them I was just following instructions given by their representatives, as far as their story of me missing the 1st payment. Unfortunately at that time I still trusted this company and didn't record names and exact times/dates of conversations. I didn't think I needed to. So last XXXX I instructed them to pay off 3 of the 5 accounts in question and that I wanted to end my association with them. ( In the next few weeks I made phone calls and negotiated a settlement myself. The remaining account is still out there, a XXXX account that they have not charged off to anyone else at this time. ) What I am writing to you about, and filing a formal complaint, is that these people are fraudulent, in what they promised me, in what they described would happen during the process, and in all the bogus information I was given by various customer service representatives who did not know what they were talking about. My credit score is negatively impacted because I quit paying according to what they told me to do. I am still fighting with all 3 bureaus to change the language to " Paid '' instead of " Charged Off ''. Americor representatives told me in no uncertain terms that when I fulfilled the terms of any settlement offer, it would be reflected that the debt was paid in full. That that was to be an integral part of the settlement. Imagine my frustration finding out now, that this absolutely just does not happen, ever. That any change in terminology is totally up to each bureau. Now 2 years have gone by and I am still suffering. I improved my utilization percentage from 80 % to the low 40 % and only gained 8 points from that. If I had known then what I know now, I NEVER would have gotten involved with these liars. I am so upset about everything. They were flakes from the start. They insisted I fax a power of attorney form with my full social security # on it and then said they lost the fax. This is extremely troubling, especially since earlier this year I got a letter from the IRS saying that a fraudulent return for XX/XX/XXXX had been filed in my name using my soc sec #. Did someone from Americor take my number? I will never know. These people are total flakes. It was the worst mistake of my life getting involved with them. I am still suffering the consequences, and it looks like I will be for a very long time. I have called the credit bureaus, Americor, all the creditors, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, I am so tired of being told " give it another 30 days '' I've been told that for years now. I spoke with a representative from National Debt Relief, ( listed as a top 10 company in Consumer Reports for debt settlement ) and he told me he had never heard of Americor Financial!!! That didn't exactly instill any confidence. These people do not deserve to be in this business. Trusting them has basically destroyed my financial life. That is my story.

Weve been in their program for 14 months ( since XX/XX/2018 ), and they have not honored A SINGLE THING present on both our contract with them or the terms of several recorded conversations we had with one of their sales managers, XXXX XXXX, since the day she sold us this atrocious program. We had good credit, just a lot of revolving credit card debt. She sold us ( we have the agreements and multiple recorded phone conversations to prove ) AN APPROVED ZERO INTEREST LOAN THAT SHOULDVE AUTOMATICALLY KICKED IN AFTER 12 MONTHS OF MAKING PAYMENTS IN THEIR PROGRAM AND USED TO PAY OUR DEBT IN FULL AND GET OUR CREDIT SCORE BETTER THAN WHEN WE STARTED THE PROGRAM Instead, after 13 months, we were contacted by a 3rd Party Company named Credit 9 who basically told us, ON A RECORDED LINE, that even though those were not the terms of our agreement with Americor, that is all we had available to us. To add insult to injury, after 6 weeks of back and forth and making us reapply for a supposedly no interest loan we were already approved for ( having agreements and multiple recorded phone calls from different employees means absolutely nothing to these people ), we were finally offered a new loan agreement with the caveat of paying them 22.50 % APR because they did nothing but destroy our name and credit in the last 13 months and now we can not get a proper loan from anyone else. Complete scam ( classic bait and switch ) and now we are basically stuck with ruined credit and the option of either paying them this outrageous interest or leave the program in our current state of affairs. After a XXXX complaint and multiple reviews left in several different sites, XXXX XXXX from upper management finally decided to properly investigate. After listening to all phone conversations and reviewing all documents, although he did confirm she lied on a recorded line and completely XXXX us over, all they were willing to do is fire her ( which they had already done ) and then tell us to either take the 22.5 % loan or leave the program with our credit ruined, obviously him being fully aware that a lawsuit will cost us a lot more then it will them at least until the case was judged. Now considering their actions and how they were advertising a zero interest loan ( this week they changed it to 5.99 % ) that is not at all zero or lie interest ( they count the 12 months you make deposits into the program without getting a single penny from them as well as not really being approved for anything as the zero interest period XXXX sold us ). Considering that if you dont take a loan you do not pay any interest anyway and they are advertising and selling customers fraudulent zero/low interest loans, all that was left to do is file a complaint with the FTC and now here, not for their false advertising and extremely fraudulent actions, but all the damage they have caused us, Hopefully we will be able to eventually retain a lawyer who will agree filing a lawsuit against this company of miscreants on a contingency fee basis. Once they completely ruin your name and your credit, make you live for 12+ months without any credit cards, finally painting you into a corner where you have no choice but to sign their new loan with exorbitant interest rates, not only it is that much harder for you to pay for good legal representation, it is almost impossible to hold them accountable for their actions ( being the main reasons why they are able to continually pull this scam on people ). So far XXXX XXXX was fired for having lied to us on a recorded line, we were offered a reduced, albeit still atrocious, rate loan that would supposedly pay our debt and even though we have done EVERYTHING they have requested, we still have not seen A PENNY of said loan and our credit is still destroyed ( btw, they were the ones who directed us to stop paying our credit cards ). This is completely unacceptable and it is beyond absurd that this company continues to be allowed to operate in the US with impunity. I will not stop until we are made whole and justice finally prevails.

I reluctantly signed up for this service after recieving a mail offer ... .the product is very misleading by by giving a consumer the notion that we will recieve a consolidation loan to pay all of our bills off in one shot and we pay a lower payment to this company ... i was originally told that americor does not offer debt settlement and that this is a way to pay off all of your bills and just pay americor a lesser amount than what all of my credit cards amounted to, thus saving me money ... but in the end i find that Americor is just like the rest of the debt consolidation/settlement companies out there that offer to " SETTLE '' on your accounts after they have been charged off for less than what you owe on them..I was directly told my the representative that i talked to Not to pay any more of my credit card payments, EVER!! ..I couldnt believe that he told me that the only way their program works is to stop paying all of my credit card payments so that the chargeoff process will start ... and one by one as the cards charge off, Americor goes in to settle on what you owe each credit card company for less than what you owe on the card..and from the day you sign up with Americor, you are paying a monthly payment to them which is whats used to settle on your accounts ... So in other words, who needs americor or any of these " DEBT SETTLEMENT COMPANIES '' ..because all the things they do, us consumers can do ourselves without paying someone a monthly fee to do it for us ... and it destroys your credit along the way but they promise that your credit will get better in 1-2 years while paying them XXXX or more per month the whole time ... So after having a brainstorm, I decided that i wanted to cancel this program before any funds is taken out of my account towards it and i called in on XXXX 2019 to cancel the account ... I was told by the account specialist that handled my concern that my bank account would not be charged since i had called in before the charge was scheduled to take place and my account was in a " pending cancellation '' status so no charges would come thru ... he also said i would recieve a call to confirm my cancellation within 48 hrs and i couldnt understand why i would get a confirmation call to cancel something that i just cancelled..so i was like ok, whatever ... ... My problem is, my bank account was charged on fri XXXX XXXX anyway and no one ever called me like he said they would ... so on that following monday XX/XX/2019 i called and demanded a refund since i was lied to by the operator when he told me that my bank account wouldnt be charged and it was..I was told again that i have to wait for a call within 48 hrs to confirm my cancellation and i realized that this was a tactic that Americor Financial uses to keep customers onboard by calling them to convince them to stay with the program because when you cancel something, it shouldn't take any company 48hs to confirm your cancellation..its a done deal and you cancel ... well, so far Americor has cause my bank account to be charged an additional XXXX in overfraft fees that i have to pay for because of the dishonest and scam type operation that Americor financial is running here..And im still waiting for my original refund 10 days later ... WARNING : STAY AWAY FROM DEBT SETTLEMENT COMPANIES LIKE THIS AND MANY OTHERS THAT SEND YOU THINGS IN THE MAIL THAT LOOKS LIKE YOUR TICKET TO FINANCIAL FREEDOM..ITS ANYTHING BUT FINANCIAL FREEDOM!!! CHARGEOFFS ARE NEVER GOOD AND THAT EXACTLY WHAT THIS COMPANY WILL CAUSE TO HAPPEN TO ALL OF YOUR ACCOUNTS..THEY WILL CHARGE OFF BECAUSE THATS WHAT THEY DEPEND ON SO THAT THEY CAN " SETTLE '' YOUR BALANCES..

In XX/XX/XXXX I signed up for an account with Americor after seeing their ads saying they could help me handle my credit card debt. Long story short, my first wife passed away in XXXX, and I had to leave my job at the time and take a 70 % pay cut to care for my XXXX young children. I eventually was able to get my income back to normal, but in the process took on about {$80000.00} in credit card debt. I requested Americor 's help with this, and during the intake process they seemed legitimate and helpful. Unfortunately, though, as it turned out there were two MAJOR misrepresentations they made, which completely invalidated any benefit I could have received, and that they absolutely lied to me about during the signup process. I would NEVER have signed up if I had received this information clearly during the process. False claim # 1 : After 12 months of payments they would lend me the funds to fully pay off my creditors. When signing up, I was told both verbally and in writing that after 12 months of on-time payments, Americor would arrange a loan to fully pay off my creditors. This was false. DEEP in the fine print of their agreement, and contradicted by the verbal statements of their staff, they reserved the right to require me to pay them for 29 months before offering the loan, not 12. False claim # 2 : They would provide me a loan at a reasonable interest rate. Then when I finally got close to the much longer number of payments, I reached out to arrange the loan, only to find out that the loan interest rate was an incredible 24 % higher than ANY of the credit cards I had enrolled! It's easy to negotiate a credit card settlement on your own. The only real value-add for this group would be the loan, and I've come to find out it actually has no value to me, despite all the assurances I got during the signup process. Ultimately I was charged over {$9000.00} in fees for essentially receiving XXXX value. I repeatedly emailed and called Americor to try and find a solution, but they have never emailed me back on this, and when I requested a call from a manager, they simply never called. I have also filed a complaint with the FTC for false advertising. I also reached out to the CEO and COO of Americor directly via XXXX, but have gotten no response. I'm hopeful that a CFPB complaint will get their attention, or if not I may be forced to file a lawsuit to recover my fees and the funds they are holding on my account ( over {$19000.00} total ). Please understand that beyond the financial damage, the fact that my credit has been destroyed for over 2 years ( when Americor promised it would begin recovering after 1 year ) has been an additional hardship for my family. We struggled to find a home to rent, and we're greatly overpaying for our vehicles due to my poor credit score. Attached file is a statement from " Reliant '' who processes these transactions on behalf of Americor.

I am a retired XXXX XXXX in XXXX, California. Due to a medical condition and physical limitations, I am unable to work and my only source of income is my monthly pension. In XXXX of XXXX, a series of unfortunate events caused me to fall behind on some of my financial obligations. I was considering bankruptcy but came across a debt resolution company online, Americor, which seemed like a better option. After a high pressure sales pitch by their representative, XXXX XXXX, I signed up and gave Americor power of attorney to negotiate my debts. Unfortunately, my credit scores still plunged and it was difficult to make the expensive payments to Americor but I held on and trusted they would help me resolve and payoff my debts. Part of the agreement was a 25 % fee on settled accounts, which made me hesitant to sign up at first, but XXXX XXXX reassured me that it would be worth it in the long run. I was also promised a loan at 35 % interest after one year of payments to payoff any outstanding settlements. However, that loan never materialized and only offered recently in XX/XX/XXXX when I expressed displeasure with Americor 's activities. I was denied that loan. What did materialize was an accumulation of fees, more than equal to the amounts that were going to pay off outstanding settled debts. In XX/XX/XXXX, I offered to deposit a lump sum of {$3500.00} to speed up payoffs of my open settled accounts. However, Americor aggressively insisted that the money be used as leverage to negotiate two larger outstanding accounts instead that were in pre-negotiation stages. I later found out why they chose this route, which was to continue to charge me the monthly settlement fees for Americor 's benefit, not mine. I finally had enough with this company in XX/XX/XXXX and stopped all future payments to them. I demanded a detailed accounting records and any documentation to assist me to contact any outstanding accounts to resume payments directly to them or pay them off. I paid off all outstanding accounts except for two larger balance accounts, which ironically, I was able to easily negotiate a reasonable resolution without Americor 's assistance. After recently reviewing the accounting records of my Americor account, and to my dismay, I realized I had paid over 77 % fees, not the contracted 25 %! This angered me even more and prompt me to file this complaint with the California DFPI and with the CFPB for Americor 's unfair and unethical financial practices. I gave Americor an opportunity to resolve this before I filed this complaint but to date, they have not responded. I have lots of documents to upload for your review related to this matter. Thank you for your attention and assistance in this matter. Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions.

On XX/XX/XXXX I joined Americor as a customer. It was my understanding they would take my credit balances and negotiate a settlement to prevent me from having to pay the minimum balance and prolong the payments, saving lots of money. The program required I stop paying on my consumer credit accounts and direct all calls and correspondences to them to begin the settlement process. I had to go without paying for months and go into default. Before this, I had not missed a payment on my consumer credit for the purposes of this account. I had built up my credit with my creditors. They said No money is paid by me until a settlement is reached and once the settlement is reached I would use the funds I paid which were XXXX from XX/XX/XXXX until XX/XX/XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX, and with a loan from Credit9 to pay the settlements and I would make payments to XXXX for the loan balance. They stated I would be able to get other consumer credit, even with the same companies. In XX/XX/XXXXXXXX XXXX I was informed I was not approved for the loan to pay off the settlements due to a XXXX I am currently involved. The problem is if they had asked me about bankruptcy the day I signed up, I would Not have signed up because I was aware of my XXXX. I would have continued to make payments on my credit, and still been ablt to use my credit. As a result my credit score dropped terribly due to the default and they wanted me to continue to pay them the long way, with no rebound in my credit score and hefty fees instead of being able to remove the credit settlements, which would have improved my credit. I made all of my payments to Americor monthly based on the closest payday to my payment. I later realized the charges I was paying them were more than what was going to pay in my settlements. I then opted out, I no longer opted into their program, it did not do anything to benefit me as they said it would. I have been damaged terribly, I no longer have the use of any credit which I used for my business. I have no credit to obtain any other credit. There was not 1 question asked about bankruptcy when I signed up, they had all of my information including how much credit debt I had, it was not possible for them not to see XXXX XXXX They have paid pennies on the settlements but most of what I paid was taken in fees by Americor.I could used other ways to pay my credit down but I was assured Americor was the best way to go. XXXX XXXX tried to argue with me when I canceled but I would no longer speak with him about my finances.

I signed on in XX/XX/XXXX to a debt settlement program with Americor Funding. They represented their service as negotiating very large reductions in credit card amounts owed, with fees taken out of an escrow account that also pays the creditors. They represented their average savings as 50 %. As of XX/XX/XXXX, they offered settlements with two creditors, XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX, at 66.87 % and 62.41 % of the original amounts owed ( $ XXXX {$2100.00} and $ XXXX {$5400.00} ). This much was disappointing, but understandable. After calling the company to see whether they could push the numbers closer to the 50 % offer and being told they couldn't, I accepted those settlements. HOWEVER, when I went on their website today to see the transactions over time that I had agreed to ( hidden behind a few tabs ), I noticed that the settlement fees being charged were so high as to render the service nearly pointless. Actually, worse than pointless, when the impact on my credit score and the stress of receiving threats of legal action, of obeying their advice to stop making payments to the credit card companies, are factored in. For the XXXX XXXX account, the settlement fees add up to {$520.00} - for total payments, *after* settlement, of {$1900.00} related to that account. That is *91.8 % * of what I originally owed before signing up with Americor Funding. For the XXXX XXXX Account, the settlement fees add up to {$1300.00}. Added to the settlement amount of {$3300.00}, that is 87.4 % of what I owed before agreeing to Americor 's program - which again, instructed me to stop making payments I otherwise would have made a good faith effort to pay. The only way to figure out these total fee amounts was to go line-by-line through an out-of-the-way tab on the website and make these calculations myself. Given that the company advertises average savings of 50 % off original account balances, based on the settlement offers *alone* and not including its fees, I believe its marketing is clearly deceptive. I was okay with paying 2/3 of the original amount in the settlement rather than half, based on the company clearly stating results may vary in that regard. By contrast, it is obvious that the company is hiding the impact of its fees on the final outcome. This is unacceptable and wrong. Had I been aware that I'd have to go through months of stress and sub-500 credit scores for a *10-12 % * overall savings, I *never* would have signed up for the program.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I was sent mailers from Americor about personal loans and a personal loan with a 0 % APR for 12 months. I set up an appoint to talk to a representative from Americor and was unfortunately assigned to XXXX XXXX, whom in my opinion should be loan originating any type of loans due to his deceptive tactics of relaying any type of information to consumers, who have applied for personal loans through Americor. XXXX XXXX preformed a soft pull on my credit report on XX/XX/2020, which he stated would determine the out of my loan process and would call me back within 45 minutes to give me a complete analysis of my loan approval. XXXX did not call on that day, instead I was bombarded with emails from XXXX about life changing loans that have helped people. XXXX sent over a screen shot copy of my analysis loan report on XX/XX/2020, in which there was no coherent or precise information on APRs or Loan Terms, instead XXXX XXXX prompted I call him so he could set me up on my loan. I did not receive a Good Faith Estimate for the loan so I could look over the APRs or Loan Terms to determine if this loan, would benefit me before I even agreed to the loan. Instead XXXX XXXX ignored my repeated requests for the Good Faith Estimate that is required by law to consumers. When I informed XXXX XXXX of these laws, I received a call from his Supervisor XXXX, who stated that he was informed about a loan offer that was made to me, and apparently I never got the APRs or Terms that would let me review the loan. I emailed XXXX XXXX about XXXX contacting me. XXXX proceeds to state in the email that he apologized for not calling me in regards to the loan approval I was offered but his Manager will be taking over? Americor has wasted my time, disregarded my request for loan APR and Terms, didnt provide a Good Faith Estimate and further more now have my personal information in their system, which could be prone to cyber hacking. Upon further research of Americor they have a habit of bait and switch loans, over promising to consumers and just wasting consumers with deceptive tactics with personal loans. Being in the financial industry, I know what they did is wrong and it irks me that they run a business like this, at the consumers ignorance of not knowing the laws.

Disclaimer : This did not result in an actual loan, but this company 's practices could harm many people looking for some financial relief. We received an offer in the mail from Fast Loans Funding, advertising a personal line of credit totaling {$30000.00}. that would reduce our monthly payments from {$620.00}. to {$150.00}, and there would be no interest and no payments for 12 months. " Simply call ... and receive your line of credit in just a few weeks that you can use to pay off your high interest credit cards. '' The communication included the XXXX logo and touted that they had an A+ rating. The offer said that we qualified for a consolidation loan of {$20000.00} with an added {$10000.00}. Our average interest rate would be 3.99 %, and our minimum monthly payment would be {$150.00}. So we started the process giving them all the info required for a loan application. XXXX XXXX, a customer service rep. Called us several days later to say we were approved. Next, they wanted to walk us through the plan. They said a secured trust fund would be established for us and we should pay {$550.00}. per month into that account for 12 months, and that we did not need to pay our other bills. Where's my {$550.00} a month going? They were actually telling us that by not paying our bills, the collection agencies would be willing to offer a much lower pay-off. I could not believe they were advising people to do this, and I'm sure many people fell for it. I told the rep ( XXXX XXXX (@XXXX ) " No! Where are you going to be when they come to foreclose on my house. This is not only false advertising ; ( that could have devastating outcomes for anyone who accepted the deal ), but it was also the bait and switch game. My worry is for all the people who are struggling, desperate for a solution to their money problems. Where is truth in advertising. I also worry because they now have all our personal info ( SS #, DOB, Income, Loans and Credit Cards ). I hope this will be investigated. I have already gone to the XXXX, but the company response was more lies. I do have the mailer, if it would be helpful. Many thanks for looking into this.

On Tuesday XX/XX/2020 I called the company called Credit9 at the number XXXX due to having received mail correspondence to my home address about being pre-approved for a personal loan. I spoke on the phone with a female representative of the company named XXXX who explained that her title is adviser. I was informed by Ms.XXXX that I will be approved for a personal loan, and that all I needed to do was provide my personal information, such as my full social security number, date of birth, home address, and full name. By providing the information I will be approved for a personal loan. Ms.XXXX informed me that she was going to send my information to a department called underwriting and will call me back at later time in the day to inform me of my approval. At approximately XXXX XXXX. eastern standard time, Ms.XXXX called to inform me that my personal loan was not approved due to the reasons of a high amount of credit utilization and high amount of debt to income ratio. Which was not mentioned before I gave my personal information, and was not disclosed to me as a factor in not being approved for the personal loan. I never agreed nor was I informed about this factor preventing me from being approved. When I asked Ms.XXXX to issue me a letter in writing for the reason of my personal loan not being approved, she informed me that it is up to her manager if one can be written and was not sure if she can write it. She informed me that the manager was busy and will reach out to me when possible. I am writing this complaint because I view, discern, imply and interpret this matter of business that Credit9 has conducted as deceptive practice and breach of verbal contract. I can prove that I have a clean credit report and have always paid my payments on time to all my creditors. So to be told that I am not approved for the personal loan and having my personal sensitive information be given to being assured and informed that I was going to be approved for a personal loan is deceptive and fraudulent. I am entitled to being issued my personal loan from the company.

Further explained/supported by attached documents : We were initially told on enrollment that positive payments would be reported to the credit bureaus and that our delinquent accounts would eventually be marked off as paid. Prior to entering debt settlement we had a 99-100 percent payment history across shared accounts. If there was no credit rebuilding portion we would not have entered the agreement. Over a year into the program we checked our credit scores to gauge progress toward future goals ( ie mortgage ) and found there was no report of any of over a year of payments to XXXX anywhere. When contacted over the phone they gave differing explanations including that it was due to changes in federal regulations that required changes to the program, of which we had not at any point been made aware. They also claimed that the original agreement did not include any of the credit rebuilding aspects, and/or that these were part of a different kind of program which we had not been signed to. Again, no differentiation was made in our agent 's explanation of the agreements and program, as evidenced by attached email ; we were told of our next steps and expectations, as if they were concrete versus a possible option. We chose to complete the program ahead of schedule to give us better chances at improving our credit on the understanding that it needed to be completed to affect any positive outcomes. When the program was complete and debts were settled this also did not change that they were listed as previous delinquencies ( showing as paid versus delinquent ) as stated in the email attached. We were told over multiple communications that this was due to regulation changes but then told again that this is not how the program works, that XXXX itself can not report anything to or directly effect the reporting of credit bureaus, etc. Because of the reality of the program versus the promise of the credit rebuilding efforts we have lost opportunities to better our financial situation or buy even a mobile home let alone a home.

All XXXX companies involved in this scam : Americor Financial, Credit9 Lending, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. By Mail these companies solicit to offer credit consolidation & do absolutely nothing. Their process is that they will negotiate or structure debt without filing a XXXX XXXXXXXX Bankruptcy, yet they understand the typically debt resolution process of the creditors better than the consumer. Unfortunately, they allow your credit cards to go delinquent which drops your credit score. The scam is that once creditors offer the consumer debt resolution offers, the scammers charge 25 % of the original balance for supposedly negotiating your credit debt by doing nothing & not paying anything for an entire year. Upon the successful completion of consistent monthly payments, the scammers fraudulently offer a fake loan to pay or cover the remainder of the consumer 's debt that is never negotiated. As such, your monthly payments for XXXX year are applied towards the scammers 25 % fee for doing absolutely nothing but ruining your debt by false & fake advertising. The fake loan offers require consumers to apply to their sister company which naturally lowers your credit score more so than their program & the fake loan is adjusted below $ XXXX, based on the consumers fraudulent negotiated debt leaving the consumer with a price-gauging high interest loan applied towards credit debt that was never negotiated while also leaving the consumer with ruined credit. The consumer can view funds withdrawn in the form of ACH & reflected in the scammers account, yet the consumer does not have access to funds & unable to withdraw funds that are fraudulently withdrawn under false pretenses. Once the consumer is falsely misled by the scammers bait & switch, the consumer is unable to transfer or request a refund for services that were never rendered or provided.

Ever time they settled an account i told them to try and settle the big account first but they assured me that everything was good with all the accounts. Now in XX/XX/XXXX i was available to receive a loan from Americor so i can pay for the rest of the accounts and then i would just pay them " Americor. I started using Americor for my consolidation of my debt in XXXX of XXXX. I have been making my payments consistently and on time and have never been late or missed a payment of {$300.00} a month. I have been sending all notices and have been in communication with them consistently and promptly as requested. At the beginning of XX/XX/XXXX I was served a lawsuit from XXXX Bank being represented by XXXX XXXX XXXX. The plaintiff is listed as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The Case No. is XXXX. The paperwork is dated XX/XX/XXXX. I was served the paperwork, I believe on XX/XX/XXXX. I notified Americor of this issue who informed me that they are not lawyers and do not staff any. However, I should sent the required reply and notify them that Americor is handling my debt and will be handling my case. I sent in the letter to the court and on XX/XX/XXXX. I recieved a letter from the court indicating they could not accept my response unless i paid a {$130.00} filing fee. Since i have recieved this response so late, I believe another response or paying the filing fee by this Monday will be too late and the courts will determine I have defaulted for not providing a response within the deadline since they did not accept my initial response. Americor has been taking my money and has not been paying my creditors. This has resulted in legal action against me and Americor does not appear to be capable of handling or resolving the issue.

This isnt being done. The other lie is that they pay the creditors by lining me the money interest free for a year, which didnt happen and the accounts were only paid once I funded them to be paid causing delays in negotiations and payments as well as additional fees, interest, and negative remarks from creditors. Americor has reviewed the phone calls and admits they told me lies but only apologize, they refuse to rectify the situation. I came up with a compromise for them to negotiate my last account for no fee, which would be about $ XXXX. This isnt worth the damages they have done to my credit but I just wanted to be done with them. They said theyd discount those fees a couple XXXX. I told them not to bother, to just negotiate it out and Id pay in full and sue for fraud later. They have since contacted me saying they need my approval to terminate my contract with them without negotiating my last account. Ive said twice thats not what I asked for and for them to negotiate a settlement so I can pay it off. They contacted me yesterday for approval, I replied within 5 minutes saying I did not approve and they emailed me saying the cancellation was finalized. My contract says a 3 day notice to cancel from either party is required. I asked them if they actually finalized it because it doesnt show in my account as cancelled and they havent replied to me.

In late XXXX, I signed up with Americor to settle three credit cards I had with XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ), XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) and XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ). I made monthly payments beginning in XX/XX/XXXX, and in total, I made payments to Americor totaling more than {$20000.00} over the XXXX period. Americor settled and paid the XXXX card for the full balance of {$780.00}. XXXX also settled and paid the XXXX card for the full balance of {$3200.00}. Then, without my knowledge or agreement, Americor entered into a stipulation of settlement agreement with XXXX, related to a lawsuit XXXX brought against me on this debt. The settlement required me to make monthly payments of {$250.00} totaling {$6000.00} of the {$8400.00} total. Americor then defaulted on this agreement after only {$4000.00} of payments were made, even though there should have been approximately {$12000.00} of funds available in my account. In sum, Americor collected {$20000.00} from me to settle {$12000.00} worth of debt, but they failed to do even do that. They paid off two of the credit cards at the full balance, providing me with no benefit. And with the third card, they defaulted on the slightly reduced settlement, resulting in numerous court dates and the likelihood that I will be liable for the full amount of the remaining unpaid balance on the card.

I paid one year of fees with Debt Settlement company, Americor Financial ( Americor.com and XXXX XXXX XXXX ). After one year, my credit is destroyed and I feel like I have been mislead on that detail. However, I called on XX/XX/XXXX at about XXXX XXXX. and spoke with a gentlemen named XXXX at their other number XXXX XXXX XXXX. I told him I had researched it and that I was legally entitled to any unearned fees at that point. XXXX told me that I had about {$1000.00} dollars that would be refunded to me within a few days after I spoke to their other customer service number ( the XXXX XXXX XXXX number ). I called them back on this past Monday, XX/XX/XXXX of XXXX and spoke to a woman named XXXX who told me I was not going to get the unearned fees regardless. I called again and spoke to a woman named XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX. She said also that I would not get any money back, regardless of who I complained to. I know they owe me At Least {$1000.00} dollars and perhaps more. Overall, I think they could do with some governmental oversight as to their lying about credit repair and such. I don't have any receipts at this time, but if needed, I can obtain bank documents that show they have been taking my money for some time over a year.

Hi. I needed credit card relief so I reached out to XXXX XXXX about helping me. I had never been late with payments but was struggling. They said they would be able to help by reducing my balances. I agreed even though their explanations aren't always clear. I began the program with them in XX/XX/XXXX. I'm not clear about my full beginning balance or payment because when I try to read my original contracts in my e mails it says those documents are expired but I do know my payments were about {$410.00} a month. Afew months in and they said i was no longer working with XXXX XXXX but with Americor, which was not totally ok with me i was skeptical but i believed what they were saying. Now I log in to my portal to check my statement and it says I began their program XX/XX/XXXX with a {$9400.00} balance. My payments are now {$390.00} and I now have a balance of {$7500.00}. I believe my account was refinanced but i was never told that's what was happening. Iam besides myself reading that I've been paying about {$400.00} for close to 19 months and my debt has gone down {$1900.00}. I have been paying more on interests than my principal.

Company is marketing a loan offer, but appears to be trying to provide credit counseling services instead. When I asked the representative if this was a credit counseling program, she said no it's a loan and it's not like credit counseling programs which damage your credit. The financial product that was described to me sounds exactly like a credit counseling program. I asked for the contractual terms of the program, so I could review them to ensure this program would not damage my credit. The company refused to send me the contractual terms stating that I had to go further in the process according to the FTC before they could send me anything. I only wanted to confirm this isn't a credit counseling program and now based on my last email with them, they do say this could damage my credit. My concerns are that 1 ) the company is falsely marketing their financial product, 2 ) the company is actively trying to deceive during phone calls on what financial product it is offering, 3 ) the company is refusing to send contractual terms for consumers to review the product until they have verbally agreed to proceed.

Debt Consolidation : Company is Americor. Signed Agreement on XX/XX/XXXX. Told the sales rep that I would probably want to pay off debt early, once I sold my house. He said no problem, to call for payoff amount when ready. Paid {$560.00} monthly with a {$10.00} fee taken out each month. Contacted Americor on XX/XX/XXXX to find out payoff amount. Was told it would be {$14000.00} and should take a couple of months to get everything paid off. Bank wired amount of {$14000.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. With the exception of Covid 2 hardship requests, the regular monthly fee continues to be withdrawn from my bank account. In XXXX, XXXX and XXXX I have called Americor to find out when final two card debts would be paid off. Was told that they are in negotiations and that it takes time. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent an email to Americor addressing my frustrations and requesting expedited settlements. If necessary, please have a manager contact me. A ticket was established. According to their website, emails would be responded to within 7 days. I have not heard back from anyone as of today XX/XX/XXXX.

In or around XXXX of this year I got involved with Americore ... after some research and assurances that once my payments were made and the settlements with the 4 credit card companies were reached my credit report would read : " account closed/paid in full " and I specifically asked if it would say " settled ''? And XXXX XXXX assured me it would NOT read " settled '' well, over 6 months later and over XXXX payment made totaling over {$7800.00}, one of the credit card companies settled and on my report it reads " settled ''. I contacted Americore several times and spoke most recently with an " XXXX '' who for over an hour ran me in circles quoting the contract I did sign that says they can not control or promise what us on the credit report which they are saying in their advertising and pitching they can and will. They say have faith and when we receive all your money your report will read the lie we promised. I've asked for a letter stating this lie and of course was quoted my contract and told to have faith. In essence no.

I am the Title company and I am working on a reverese refinance. I am trying to get a payoff statement from a debt consolidation company ( Americore ) for my client. They will not give me authorization to request any documents or information on this loan ( even with the borrowers consent ). I have sent several emails to their customer service email and fax number but they are declined. The borrower was able to received an email with an amount but no wiring instructions or relatable information on the loan. When I respond to that email they decline to reply. Finally, Americore 's customer service reps have been very unpleasant to work with. One rep by the name of XXXX, was so intolerant of my clients questions he said " I will no longer explain any of this information to you as I have already explained once. '' My client is XXXX XXXX XXXX and she has difficulty receiving an email or even logging onto the internet. She should be able to request this statement so that she can pay it off and just be done with Americore.

Credit9 Loan represents them self as a LOAN company. When you initiate contact with them they do not identify them self as a credit repair company. They claim to be a LOAN company using this loan to pay off debt. They tell you upfront all calls are recorded. Then they tell you to stop making payments to the companies they are going to pay off. They explain this will take three to four months. That's not a loan. They state this is an unsecured line of credit. However, the only reason they would say stop paying, and this will take three to four months is because what they are doing is negotiating terms with who they will contact on your behalf. they identify all information as a loan company which is extremely misleading. They claim to be a cash Disbursement Department, however if its taking three to four months there is not any cash being disbursed, instead they are trying to work out a payment plan. Their misrepresentation needs to be stopped. I am attaching the information this company misrepresents them self as.

I was told incorrect information from this company who stated that they were a government program & would help me to pay off my debts. They are not a government company. They took all my money I had put into an escrow account & refused to give it back to me when I realized their scam would have me paying not only my debtors but them a huge percentage ( 25 % ) of the TOTAL original amount! They withheld all my accumulated funds I had been sending in over the course of almost 2 years! They however paid themselves over XXXX! and not one debtor got paid XXXX cent! They refused to return any part of my escrow funds to me. Now I still owe my creditors and in addition have paid thousands of dollars to this company as well and for what?? This company promised to help me get out of debt but instead has put me deeper into debt!

I was sent a letter by Americor to settle my debt in XX/XX/XXXX. Upon having the initial phone conversation with them I was sold on them helping me get out of debt fast with low fees. The amount of fees was not told to me up front, I was told their fee was 20 %, then upon my cancelation I was told its 25 %. I canceled my account in XX/XX/XXXX and was told by Americor management that I would receive about {$2100.00} refund. When I contacted ( XXXX ) their 3rd party they informed me that I was charged a cancellation fee and I would only receive {$300.00}. I had an automatic payment processing after I closed and was told I would receive that as well as funds remaining in my account which was about {$700.00}. I have been ripped off by Americor and want to get my funds back.

In 2020 during Covid I was working with A debt consolidation company named " Americor '' to pay down my credit card debts however due to how the payments were set up a credit card was sent to collection. XXXX, the credit card company, was in talks with Americor and was sent to collections and there was an agreement made with the Collections company XXXX. However, there was confusion in the contract because the name of XXXX was later found to have changed to XXXX XXXX In the contract, I was told that the collection would be removed once paid. However, once all the payments were finalized, I reached out to both of the companies and they both are saying they can not remove the collection. No action was taken on either part.

I received a pre approved offer in the mail for a debt consolidation LOAN. The representative repeatedly kept referring to this as a loan while soliciting a monthly payment that would be set aside to settle these accounts. They were using extremely deceptive and false claims about my current credit score and credit profile. I am concerned that other consumers less savvy regarding these issues could be easily duped by their process causing severe damage to their credit profile.
