In XXXX of XXXX I started contacting companies that I could help me consolidate my student loans. I contacted Student Loan Advocates and they initially advised me that I do not qualify for assistance because I do not have a XXXX XXXX or a high enough balance. I was contacted with repetitive phone calls for a couple days telling me they would be able to help me with consolidation. I spoke to a representative named XXXX and he stated he could help me with the initial on line application, he answered all the questions and stated that my balance would decrease to less than XXXX a month and for a shorter period of time. A couple days later I received an email from XXXX XXXX with an application for me to complete and fax back. In the process of filing out the application a question asked if I work for a nonprofit organization, the answer is no and the next step told me that I do not qualify for assistance. I sent an email back to XXXX advising that I will not be able to complete the application due to my company not being a non profit. I started receiving emails and text messages advising that I need to still sign the application and fax it back. On Friday X/X/2017 I received a text message stating that a charge of XXXX will be taken from my account. I contacted both XXXX and XXXX and advised that I did not agree to a payment since I did not qualify for their services. On Monday XXXX a XXXX charge was taken from my XXXX XXXX Credit card, I called and asked why they are deducting money when I was not approved and was advised that even though I was not approved the charge was the first from a XXXX application fee. On XXXX I went to pay my student loan with XXXX and found that my user name, my password, and my email that is associated with my account was changed. I was not able to contact XXXX until Monday XXXX, I advised of them of the problems and they were concerned that someone has accessed my account and changed my user information. I provided the information of my original user name and password and the one it was changed to right before this one and the rep was able to help me correct my information and put a password on my account. She advised me that it is against the law to access my account and to contact CFPB and FTC to file a complaint.

SCAMMED by Student Loan COMPANY. American Student Loan Company reached out to me several times via phone in XX/XX/XXXX. From XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, The phone calls from XXXX were pretty convincing. She also spent the next 4 months convincing both my husband and I that ALL of my loans would be forgiven, but I had to ACT NOW. Every time we called or she called she said she had my case right there and could see my information. They ALL will be forgiven ( her words not mine ). She said we must act now before the Obama Administration ended for our case to be heard. When the new administration would end, I would be grandfathered in. She said you worked with a team of lawyers that would fight for my case. She convinced us not to pay on my current loans but to make monthly payments to their company to take on my case. Due to the fact she said she had my information in front of her, I assumed she was a legal assistant or aid. She made me feel like they were adamant about fighting my case. A year went by and still no contact. Not from American Student Loan Advocated or a lawyer. No conformation anything was done, accomplished, sent, more information needed, nothing. When I contacted the company a year later to see what was going on, they said my case was closed 2 years ago, which means my money was just taken., I was flat out lied to from someone who I believed had a legal background who was giving financial and legal advice. No lawyers were ever represented. The company took my money and submitted an email on my behalf, all which I could of done for free. Dates : XXXX XXXX-XXXX XXXX : American Student Loan Company contacted me via phone. XXXX spoke to me over a 3 month period. XX/XX/XXXX : First payment was given to the company in exchange that I stop making payments on y current student loans. XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX : 7 payments of {$100.00} were taken XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX : No contact from the company or lawyers like expected XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX : Emails between XXXX XXXX XXXX. Offered a partial refund and to re-consolidate my loans XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX : Nothing has been done or settled
