This is not the first time I have been contacted by American Financial Credit Services about a supposed tax bill that I supposedly have with the XXXX County government. I lived on the property as a renter from XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX, and my sister, XXXX XXXX ( then XXXX ), and her former husband, XXXX XXXX, were the sole owners of the house. I never had any financial stake in that property other than paying rent to my sister. The address is XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, SC, XXXX. I did not respond to them the last time they contacted me and left me a voicemail with the same claim. I called the XXXX County tax collector 's office directly to find out why I had been referred to this debt collection agency and they said they had no idea what I was taking about, they had never referred me to a collection agency, and I was never listed on the deed or mortgage for the property. I ignored the last voicemail this company sent me, but this time, I need them to stop contacting me about a false tax debt. The caller 's name was XXXX with a reference # XXXX and he said to call him back at XXXX ext. XXXX. However, the call number on my caller ID was listed as XXXX. I submitted this complaint through the FTC on XX/XX/XXXX, FTC Report Number # XXXX.
I recently received another voicemail from the same company on XX/XX/XXXX regarding the same supposed debt I do not owe. This time, the caller identified himself as the same man, XXXX, with the same contact information - different caller ID on my phone vs. the phone number he told me to return his voicemail.

On XX/XX/XXXX , I sen t American Financial Services a letter and requested that they provide me a validation of debt, on this unknown account as per instructions from XXXX 's dispute results letter dated XXXX XXXX 2017 I asked for proof that I am indeed the party they are asking to pa y this debt, the date of the alleged medical service, the name of the patient and that there is some contractual obligation which is binding on me to pay this debt. I received a letter from American Financial dated XX/XX/XXXX . Their version of verifying this debt was a one page sheet as you can see, with the words *Validation of Debt Notice*. A client account number and a total balance. Telling me to contact the hospital directly. If you received a notice like this in the mail, with just an amount due, would you pay it or would you question it? I 'm questioning it. IF this account was mine, I most likely had insurance at the time and the insurance wouldve covered the charges. This account most likely also would be obsolete. They way that I see it, American Financial can not furnish the requested information to me because if they do n't have it.

I asked this company to verify that this was my debt and when the date of the debt took place and they could not verify any of these. They sent a short letter with no information asking of ways to repay this debt without verifying any of the information I had asked. Date, date of birth, copies from original debt. Then they attempted to make harassing calls towards me in the evening past XXXX stating they would have me arrested if a payment was not made. Still they could not verify any information by sending me copies

I received a letter dated XX/XX/2018 from American Financial Credit Services , Inc. that was addressed to a " XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX '' but was mailed to my home address. I have no connection whatsoever to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have no idea who is linked to this XXXX or what the debt is. Clearly, they have confused me with someone else.
This company threatened tax liens with the SC Dept. of Revenue against me in the amount of {$10000.00} But this debt isn't mine.

American Financial kept calling about a medical bill they are saying was sent to collection company my husband had paid it off. the company for the medical bill did not inform American Financial of account being paid off. and their rep kept calling me and advised me she would send my account to the credit bureau which they did and it caused a negative report for me. now I want this problem corrected as soon as possible. thank you for your time.

During my personal investigation of this American Financial Services being on my XXXX report even after countless efforts to get them to cease reporting the debt, I became aware that they are not allowed to collect debt in the State of Michigan without being licensed. Reporting information to a credit bureau is widely upheld as a collection activity, and as this is being reported to XXXX, I consider this unlicensed and unlawful activity.

While looking over my credit report I noticed a collection account for American Financial. On XXXX XXXX, I sent certified mail to American Financial asking them to verify the debt. It has been over 30 days and I have not heard back. I would like this removed from my credit report.

I informed the colection agency that at time of service, I was, covered by XXXX XXXX and VA emergency service. They. Still insist I owe the sum! Put a lien on my property some how with out my knowledge! Never notified of court proceeding.
