I attempted to refinance my mortgage in XX/XX/2022 and began the process with American Fidelity Mortgage Services , Inc . I followed their process as instructed and provided all of the information they requested. The loan officer I was working with, upon discussing my case with his " manager '', told me I needed to participate in their Rapid Rescore Program in order to be approved for the refinance. I was hesitant at first because it would result in my having to borrow funds from a family member to participate. I did this in order to get approved only to find out that I did not have to participate in their " Program '', and I would have been approved but with a higher rate. During this process, they checked my credit score three times, placing three hard inquiries onto my credit report. At the end of the Rapid Rescore Program process, they performed an income verification, which I was told was already completed, and stated because I no longer work two jobs ( a difference of less than $ XXXX month after taxes ) I was denied the loan. All of this after three hard inquiries onto my credit report, being told the rate was locked in a month prior, having to participate into a program I didn't have to participate in, and having to borrow money from someone when it was never necessary. I want the hard inquiries removed from my credit report and this company to stop telling prospective buyers/owners they " : qualify ... if ... '' and placing unnecessary hard inquiries onto credit reports, which drag down credit scores. Three hard inquiries within 2 weeks is ridiculous and overkill.
