We moved in XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX to XXXX & changed address, changed phone numbers and changed bank accounts. I had a payment set to go through but since the address changed it did not go through. I didnt recieve any information that my account past due or that the payment did not go through from my old bank. There are multiple things that are incorrect from XXXX XXXX Stident Loan Program. 1 is I make one payment but when they reported a late it shows up for 5 accounts. This is predatory practice. Another is that student loans stay on reportd FOREVER which should be a crime. I've had perfect history for the past 8+ years with them and then this incident which was accidental trashes my credit. It brought my score from a XXXX to a XXXX and I pay my Bill 's on time and plan on buying another home in the near future. Another things they dont XXXX report 30 day late which if that would have occurred maybe I would have seen the error earlier. They do that on purpose because I'd they can CHOOSE to not report 30 day lates than they can assist in getting this removed. This is unfair practices that takes advantage of consumers and is predatory. I feel sorry for the college students today getting out attempting to pay these loans because I'm a XXXX XXXX and this company has never worked with me during transitions. XXXX XXXX student loans however has been awesome at working with you during transitions of home or jobs. This company needs to get its stuff together and is the perfect representation why this country needs student loan reform. If your going to bankrupt our nation you should at least work with the people that are paying your loans back. I've already paid back way more than I borrowed as well. The fact is that I am playing by the rules that the company itself has created. You as a company choose to only report anything 60 days past due. Therefore my account is not constantly delayed but just around the rules that you play by. The fact is I have paid far beyond the amounts I have borrowed and still have a bit to go. The fact is I have friends who have started companies and failed that went through bankruptcy who's credit score was impacted less than my credit score for failing on one payment over the past 10 XXXX years. The fact is you are charging roughly a 25 % interest charge per payment charge and absolutely XXXX the youth and my generation. Yes it's a 5-7 % interest payment but compounded daily like a home. You buy a car for {$25000.00} and pay {$5000.00} in interest. When you borrow {$25000.00} in student loans you pay {$30000.00} of interest. Big business in American is XXXX this generation and going to bankrupt our society. I simply say you are XXXX with one person who has paid more than their fair share of what they borrowed and then you penalize them for moving. May I ask what your company account performance is? 10, 20, 30, 40 % delinquency rate? I'm genuinely curious because over the past 10 years I have been REPORTED twice on my 5 student loan accounts with you. When in fact it should be ONE ACCOUNT. How many times do I file a payment each month? Once ... Then why the XXXX do you have it split to 5 accounts. If its 5 accounts I should have to make 5 payments. This is predatory practices. Your entire business model is predatory practices taking adantage of the youth of American and our country. YOU WILL BE the people who bankrupt our country. It was the housing market in XX/XX/XXXX and it will be the PRIVATE student loan companies today to blame. My subsidized student loan company XXXX XXXX has been fantastic to deal with. They are flexible to work with and you know what I've had zero issues with them! So why does the CFPB put me right back in contact with YOU, BIG CORPORATE? I have no idea. You are the ones who are praying on consumers and will continue to do so. I will take this back to CFPB and the supreme court if I have to because frankly SOMEONE HAS TO! When will this stop. How much did I borrow on each loan? How much have I paid back on each loan? And to be frank I am a very successful XXXX person so I can not imagine the stress, anxiety and absolute Bullying you enact on others. I also will make a solemn oath that the final {$10000.00} of my loan will be repaid in pennies delivered personally by myself to you in XXXX, Alaska if in fact your business is there in Alaska like you advertise and not overseas. And again this comes from an individual who has been paying his loan since 6 months when I got out of college and thought XXXX XXXX how am I going to do this ... Its time for a change, and I am ready to take on this challenge. Educational reform is on the horizon and the educational financial crisis is at the epicenter of this country 's greatest threat. I've got money and a passion to positively impact our country for the better.

Dear XXXX, I am a current borrower from the Alaska XXXX XXXX XXXX, a public corporation that issues bonds for non-federal education loans. I carry close {$71000.00} on XXXX loans dispersed by the XXXX from XXXX to XXXX. The fixed interest rates on my loans are extremely high, averaging 8.5 %. I pay {$820.00} a month to the State of Alaska, and approximately {$500.00} a month last year ( 60 % of each payment ) went towards the interest. Loans by the XXXX are managed and serviced by a sister agency within the Alaska Dept. of Education, the Alaska Commission for Postsecondary Education ( ACPE ) After finding out that the XXXX had a brand-new 5.2 % loan refinance plan, I was elated, estimating this new " Refi '' plan would drop my monthly payments by more than {$200.00}, and lower my long-term loan costs through my remaining XXXX month term by ~ {$30000.00}. Although I meet all the other requirements, never having defaulted, making years of full payments on time, being gainfully employed, and having good credit, I was shocked to see a line-item exclusion on this Refi plan : It says " Alaska Residents Only. '' I called the ACPE to question this rule, and was told on the phone " Sorry, just go go the XXXX loans refinanced by someone else. '' Despite refi interest rates far higher than the refi plan with XXXX, I submitted consolidation apps to XXXX different loan consolidators, including XXXX XXXX ( my own bank ), XXXX, and XXXX. All were rejected. Horrified, I emailed the State of Alaska 's Attorney General and the State Senate Minority Leader to appeal the legitimacy and ethics related to excluding *existing borrowers* and *former residents* who do not " currently reside '' in Alaska from this new student debt relief plan. I brought up a number of problems relating to how the State of Alaska, as a public education loan provider, a receiver of federal funds, and a former IRS tax-exempt issuer of student loan bonds, could prohibit former residents who pay very high interest ( such as myself ) from being able to refinance their loans with the exact same provider, under nearly identical 15-year terms. I noted in my email that my XXXX loans take 30 % of my net income every month to pay. I also questioned the legality of this line-item " current resident '' exclusion ( Alaska Statute XXXX ) from a federal standpoint. The U.S. Constitution 's Privileges and Immunities Clause, for example, prohibits exactly this type of differential exclusion as the rule directly concerns the deprivation of personal health, property, and happiness ). Moreover, this involves a " resident '' who was eligible at the time. I brought up in my email that as a former long-term Alaska resident who fits the exact model the Refi program is trying to help, the " current '' residency exception was discriminatory to borrowers who *were* residents at the time of loan issuance, pushing this type of eligibility outside of the boundaries of fair lending practices, especially as a public education loan provider. Within 3 days, all the issues I petitioned in my email were categorically rejected via an emailed letter from the ACPE secretary, copied to ACPE 's Acting Executive Director and the State 's Assistant Attorney General. I am deciding whether to file a class-action lawsuit against the ACPE/ASLC ( which would go to the AK Attorney General 's office ) to appeal this residency exception as unfair, unethical, and irresponsible. I thought I 'd contact the XXXX first. Even if I was able to win a case to strike this rule down in federal and/or state court, I do n't have the time, money, or legal resources to deal with years of appeals and administrative roadblocks to State of Alaska will likely throw my way. I 'm formally requesting help from the XXXX, as this is a very serious issue for my future financial viability and is hindering my ability to live a normal life.

When I applied for student loans through the fafsa government website I was approved for a certain about of student loans. A couple of loans I had taken were from an agency by the name of Alaska Commission on Postsecendary Education ( ACPE ). The loans I agreed to take were all federal loans. I did not apply for private loans. I found out about a year ago that a few of of my loans through them were actually private. I did not apply for private loans. I had only applied for loans through fafsa which are federal loans. Now that I am in repayment status, the " private loans '' do not have the same terms as the federal loans and I had absolutely no idea when I received these loans they were not federal and did not have the same terms. I am in a bind now that these so called 'private loans ' do not offer the same income based repayment plans as do the federal loans. They do not qualify for consolidation with my other federal loan lenders and I had absolutely no idea this occurred. I have XXXX loans with ACPE, XXXX of which are considered private state loans. How is it that XXXX of these loans are private and the other XXXX are federal? I had no idea and was not informed of these not being federal. I signed the promissory notes ; however, they are the same for all the loans I loaned from them. None of the promissory notes specify any difference between the state private loans or the federal loans. I was misled. I was not given the correct information regarding these loans or I would have not taken them. I intended to not take private loans out and it appears as though I did and I am not sure how that occurred. I need to find help with this matter as they are hounding me regarding repayment now. They are not offering lower payment options like the federal loans offer and frankly, I can not afford the minimum payment they are asking. Especially with the low wages available to people at this point, I am unable to pay bills, let alone student loans. I did obtain my degree ; however, I am realizing it was a bad decision and wish I could just get a refund and return my degree. XXXX is a joke. Please help.

I was XXXX and didn't realize loans from alaska post secondary education commission were " private '' loans and yrs later I fell on hard times and had a deferment on the XXXX, XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) and XXXX XXXX at the time. I mistook the APSEC loan with federal and ended up defaulting on it. the loan in return goes from $ XXXX into $ XXXX. I would have to find the paperwork for specific dates, but this happened around XX/XX/2012. I've tried calling many times to APSEC and I'm always reverted to XXXX XXXX because they are the collection agency, which they are no help other than paying off the entire balance or 90 %. I can't believe there is no way to get out of default like with a rehabilitation program or anything. perhaps consolidation, but it is just crazy how the balance doubled - it is extortion. especially, since the XXXX financial advisors were basically just salesmen to XXXX yr olds just, like, " oh yea we can get you the money. '' XXXX is in a fact a for profit university just milking ease of student loans. I honestly wish I never went to college after this experience. DO NOT TAKE OUT AN ALASKA POST SECONDARY LOAN. of course many will just say " didnt you read the fine print. '' well, struggling and juggling multiple lenders, I didn't realize it was separate from federal loans.

The Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education ( ACPE ) failed to properly notify me of the transfer of my loan from default to the collection agency based in Indiana XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ), and they also violated the state statute AS XXXX period of 30 days between their alleged notification to me and transferring the debt to the collection agency. Thereafter, in the effort to resolve and settle my student education loan debt with the collection agency XXXX, there have been many conflicting statements and advice from both the ACPE and XXXX. ACPE tells me I must settle the loan with XXXX and likewise XXXX tells me I must settle the loan with ACPE. Neither take responsibility for agreeing upon a settlement with me and have been unreasonable in their treatment of my debt case. I would like to note that my father sent a check of 50 % of the original balance of {$34000.00} to XXXX to settle the loan debt completely on XX/XX/XXXX, however it was rejected by XXXX as they stated they did not have a settlement agreement on file from ACPE. Therefore I sent the settlement offer in writing on XX/XX/XXXX to ACPE. Currently XXXX is reviewing my offer, and financial form documents.

Currently have an Administrative Wage Garnishment in effect that is 25 % of my biweekly pay. This went into effect without knowledge of a summons. Contacted Alaska Commission on Post Secondary Education ( ACPE ) about the issue, and was told that they were able to proceed even without my presence or knowledge. Attempted to negotiate a payment plan, but was declined. ACPE told me the only way the garnishment would be lifted is if paid in full. Their other alternative was filing for a reduction from 25 % to 15 %. Filed the proper paper work and was denied even that. I am in a place where I can pay affordable monthly payments, but want an option that wo n't keep damaging my credit. The XXXX on my credit has had a negative ripple effect on more and more as time passes. I am trying to be proactive with my finances, but ACPE has put me in a stranglehold from moving forward. I have called ACPE countless times on my options, and all I get is the same thing back. I can not believe there are no relief alternatives. No options after the administrative wage garnishment is in effect. After half a year of payments, no options.

I have a student loan with Alaska Commission for Post Secondary Education from XX/XX/XXXX that I have been paying on. If I got behind, I always caught back up. I filed for divorce in XX/XX/XXXX ( I was a stay at home mom up until XX/XX/XXXX ) so my account became delinquent and in default. In XX/XX/XXXX I filed bankruptcy. Knowing my student loan was n't going to be discharged, I contacted ACPSE to setup a payment plan. They refused to work with me and said that I needed to pay {$1800.00} order to be considered current ( {$3800.00} total debt ). Obviously I could n't do that, I am a single mom of XXXX just reentering the workforce. There was no way I could manage to do that. In XX/XX/XXXX they turned the account over to collections. The collection company now is asking for {$5800.00}. I contacted ACPSE on XX/XX/XXXX and stated I could arrange payment in full if they would be willing to work with me. They replied with " Contact the collection agency to settle your debt ''. I would like to get this account settled and paid but I ca n't pay {$5800.00}.

I have a student loan from the Alaska Commission on Post Secondary Education that is currently in forbearance. Apparently, they sent me a letter that was returned to them XXXX probably delivered to the wrong house ) and instead of calling me, emailing me, or attempting to contact me, they began harassing my extended family members and all educational institutions where I have previously been enrolled. At the same time, they have not once tried to contact me-and I 've verified that all of my contact info on file is correct. I did not receive a single phone call or email from them until yesterday XXXX XXXX XXXX ) which is the same day that my family members received their letters from XXXX. More importantly, my loan still in forbearance, meaning that there is no payment due. My next payment is not due until XXXX. I would like to file a complaint because I feel like their harassment of my family-including my XXXX year old grandparents-is a violation of my consumer rights.

I went to the university of XXXX from XXXX. I received private student loans from the AK XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Years later, I ran into hard times and filed bankruptcy in XXXX. I had never made a payment on these loans because when the payment became due, it was way too much for me to pay. They were included in my bankruptcy as well anyway. I 've disputed these loans all year XXXX XXXX ) and have disputed them in the past to no avail. TN law states they have to be removed after 7 years anyway. They wo n't remove them. They lie and say I was late on payments in XXXX when I 've never made a payment. They even lied and are acting like they were n't included in my bankruptcy. Either way, please help me clear up their negative reporting that they keep doing month after month after month.

I am a victim of identity theft. Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, we are all facing which has me sitting still at home and I saw the recent news about the multiple XXXX Data breaches. I decided to look at my credit reports from the 3 major credit bureaus and found that someone had used my Identity. I have no idea how the theft took place. I also have no knowledge of any suspects. I did not receive any money, goods, or services as a result of identity theft. I contacted the Credit Bureau and told me to file an Identity Theft Report which I am doing. I appreciate your effort in getting this matter resolved. Thank you. Please let me know if you need any other information from me to block this information from my credit report. Thank you.

I borrowed roughly {$20000.00} from the State of Alaska. When I graduated I had a {$35000.00} that I had problems paying and it went into default. Now they say I cant get it out of default and my bill is close to {$70000.00}. I also tried to see if I could pay off each loan separately. I have 5 loans and they said no.
