The third party collection agency, Advocates Professional Services, out of NY. They have threatened to take out a suit or judgement on me for attorney fees. Attorneys in my state ( Utah ) are responsible for not running up outlandish bills that are outrageously expensive and expect people to pay, you dont see the bill til after they tell you they did XXXX a month work for you?? How do you fight that?? My parents already helped me pay the attorney XXXX. Then they couldnt help anymore. Im still paying them off for that. Then the attorney billed me close to XXXX in a two-three month period. Im a single mother, stay at home mom. I cant pay that bill. The attorney should have had reasonable fees. Those are not reasonable at all. Another attorney Ive talked to says I could try and get that debt taken down or removed for unreasonable fees. But, I have no money to pay one attorney to go after another. Its been a mess, the third party collection agency keeps threatening me with deadlines to wire them XXXX or XXXX owe XXXX if I dont pay them. I have XXXX resources to do that. They are saying they will put a writ of attachment to my marital assets which are all still tied up with the court. I hired the attorney that Ive paid XXXX and now wants XXXX to just help me with a divorce in 2019. Im still not settled with child custody or separation of assets. He, the attorney, basically got me a protective order again my ex for XXXX. Come to find out the district attorney would have done that for me for free. Of course, he didnt mention that. I explained my situation to the collection guy and he just says he doesnt care about that and he will go after my mom and dad too. My mom was with me when I retained the attorney, my dad has never even been there, and their last voicemail to my mom, was saying they would go after her and my dad. I can send all the emails and screenshots of the voicemails. I just feel very scared and threatened to come up with an amount of money that I dont make in seven years of working! Hopefully I hear from you soon. Thank you so much
