l was able to address an issue on my credit recently. l began speaking with Accudata, we came to a agreement and an offer was made. XXXX XXXX an accounts representative at accudata informed me the original creditor was not really wanting to settle but she was speaking with them. l had been in contact with the original creditor for a copy of my file and knew this was not true, they had in fact informed me that the debt had been sold and they just verify information if needed. We continued to come to certain terms with accudata, The first offer expired but we continued to negotiate. l requested a settlement letter stating how it would appear on my credit. XXXX XXXX informed me they would not provide the letter l had requested they thought of it as blackmail ... but if we would agree to pricier terms they would indeed send me a letter stating the terms l had requested. We received the letter and paid the agreed amount. When Accudata reported to the credit bureaus they did not adhere to the agreed terms in the signed settlement letter and had no problems being fraudulent and untrue in the statement letter XXXX XXXX sent to us. They in fact stated the opposite. We had also proved we were not responsible for part of the debt. When l contacted XXXX XXXX she stated to me that she did not attach the comment to my credit and it was not her problem how they added or reported items. The credit bureaus are information gathering institutions and report what is reported to them, so XXXX XXXX you are indeed responsible to report true and accurate information and most definitely should not be fraudulent with signed statement letters claiming to settle, report ... .then do not adhere to the settlement agreement. Collection agencies should not be allowed to operate this way. When the are making a profit from buying a past debt and the original creditor is being paid, how would you even know or care if the facts were true ... your getting paid. l realize XXXX XXXX has a job to do, and deals with all types of individuals. Everyone is not the same. And to ruin an individuals credit for another 7 years, when they are trying to do the right thing just seems wrong. l hope this lnformation will help the public in dealing with Accudata. Thank you.

I would like to begin by saying that this is common practice for the landlord associated with the complaint, who houses approximately XXXX students in XXXX , MO, every year. If they know you are graduating, they send you a notice of damages knowing you will never be their customer again, knowing most people will pay. Of XXXX fellow graduates and tenants that I spoke with, all have experienced the same issue. This is rampant abuse of the system.
XXXX
I leased an apartment from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX . The lease ende d XX/XX/XXXX . O n XX/XX/XXXX , I received notice from XXXX in the landlord 's accounts receivables division that I was being charged {$160.00} for 'damages ' to the unit I leased. There were no damages to the unit, and this was confirmed orally by their leasing agent, XXXX , to my roommate, XXXX , at the commencement of our walk-through on XX/XX/XXXX . XXXX was not provided with documentation of the lack of damages. More relevant than the lack of damages is the state of Missouri 's requirement of landlord 's to deliver notice of damages within 30 days of the termination of the lease. See here : XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX J XX/XX/XXXX , and I received notice of damages on XX/XX/XXXX . I quoted the relevant statue provided above to XXXX in accounts receivable, expressing that I would not be paying for the damages. According to XXXX , my 'debt ' was sent to collections company Accudata on XX/XX/XXXX . I never received notice of this 'debt ' from Accudata.
XXXX
My father, however, did receive notice, and received a derogatory mark on his credit report, too. He disputed the debt with Accudata immediately by mail, expressing that XXXX was too late in reporting damages to us according to Missouri statutes. Accudata replied by sending back images of supposed damages.
XXXX
The derogatory mark from Accudata exists on our credit reports to this day, and we have still not paid said 'debt '. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX is a subsidiary of XXXX XXXX XXXX , and operates under the ' XXXX XXXX XXXX ' brand.

In accordance, under subsection 809, section 1692g of the FDCPA guidelines : collectors are required to send a " dunning letter '' ... or notice of debt to a consumer & make certain that they receive it, & /or initial phone calls for first contact to obtain a valid mailing address. I should have been provided with at least the basic information such as the original creditor, the original debt amounts and notice that I had 30 days to ask for validation of the debt BEFORE this collection was ever reported to my credit. I have never received this from your company. I was also never given the chance to exercise my right under FDCPA to have this debt validated or disputed. Instead my credit has been hit by XXXX XXXX stating that they were assigned to me by a creditor to collect two sums. One being for a total of {$180.00}, the other {$50.00}. After checking my credit reports, i seen these discrepancies & tried to correct them I sent via cert mail on XX/XX/2018 after speaking to you to aqcuire my full account numbers for reference & to state I Never received Any notices of said debt ( s ) from their company by mail & no phone calls ...
This is illegal since I didn't get this option due to lack of effort on your behalf to hold up your legal obligation of notifying me of said debts you believed to be mine that you bought from the original creditor! Under FDCPA rules there are guidelines that all collectors have to follow to collect a debt and XXXX XXXX has failed to do so in collecting proper forms of contact for me & reporting this as a debt that's supposedly owed by me, to the credit bureaus.

My roommate had created damages in an apartment that we co-inhabited. I was not residing at the property at that point of time, and one day i was made aware that a collection had been placed on my credit report. I had no idea this debt was required to be paid by me until it was already added to my credit report. To not create any further issue, I paid off the collection, but I did not have any chance to dispute it.

I was reviewing my credit report and noticed a debt collector reporting an unauthorized collections on my credit report.
I sent them a certified letter asking them to verify the item because the information listed on my credit report is inaccurate. This inaccuracy in inhibiting my right to have accurate information reporting to my credit reports.
