Accounts Research ( " Debt Collector '' ) had indicated their intent to file a judgment on medical bills owed by my wife and I ( " Payees '' ) of approximately {$2500.00}. Debt Collector and XXXX XXXX XXXX ( " Creditor '' ) would never provide documentation supporting this amount. Instead of having wages garnished, Payees agreed to an " Agreed Upon Judgment '' without verifying the debt in order to prevent embarrassment from the community as well as employers. The Payees would make an initial payment of {$500.00} and subsequent payments of {$200.00} until receipt of a tax return, at which time the balance would be paid in full. The agreement was signed by Debt Collector and Payees and notarized and presumably filed with the judgment. Even at this point, the Debt Collector would not provide documentation validating the debt. In XXXX 2016, the Debt Collector contacted the Payees and indicated the Payee 's insurance company had returned insurance claims, thus increasing the amount owed. Despite making payments of approximately {$900.00}, Debt Collector indicated the balance was the same as initially indicated of approximately {$2500.00} ( expected balance to be approximately {$1600.00} ( {$2500.00} - {$900.00} ) ). Again, asked the Debt Collector and Creditor to provide proof of increase and was told by the Debt Collector each were no longer required to provide proof of increase and would need to contact the insurance company. Insurance company indicated all claims had been paid. Despite this information from the insurance company, Debt Collector and Creditor were still not cooperative and have yet to validate the debt till date. Although the request for debt validation may have passed, the Payees have never received debt validation during this time. It is my understanding that if the Payees do not request debt validation within 30 days of the first contact, the courts will not consider you having admitted to owing the debt or that the debt is valid. See FDCPA 809 ( c ) : " The failure of a consumer to dispute the validity of a debt under this section may not be construed by any court as an admission of liability by the consumer. '' To the Payees, proper debt validation should be in the form of documentation from the Creditor, not the Debt Collector. Is this not noncompliance with Section 809 of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act?

I chose that they contacted my employer but that 's not even the main issue I have. My complaints are with accounts research on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX tn. I spoke with XXXX. He has contacted me about debt collection of a {$480.00} bill. With how busy I have been being in and out of the hospital, taking care of my toddler, moving, etc. I was just now getting back with them today. They called my husbands place of employment. Which we definitely never gave them permission to do but I still called them back because I realized I needed to make a payment on the account. So I called this morning and offered to make a {$50.00} payment today and start up a payment plan and they refused my payment. I was told that I either had to pay half today then half in thirty days or pay all today. Otherwise it would be turned over to court. So distraught I got off the phone while I was trying to figure out my options. I literally do n't have the amount of money they requested. So I was scared of what was going to happen. I called the doctors office that the bill was originally with and tried to find out if they could get the bill back so I could start a payment plan with them. They told me they had signed a contractSaying that they could n't do that so I called XXXX this afternoon and this time I recorded the phone call. Not only did they not verify my identity, he basically called me a liar about speaking to the Drs office, he called me irreasonble because I could n't pay the amount that he is requiring, and refused payment once again. He also ended the conversation by stating that he was n't willing to work with me. Now I understand that I owe a debt and that the debt has went on longer than it should have but now that I 'm able to start paying a little on it at a time I should n't be told no. I definitely should n't have to deal with someone that wo n't even consider working with me. Life happens and sometimes you do n't have {$500.00} spare to spend out but since I was trying to take care of it a little at a time I believe this situation should have been handled a whole lot differently. Once again I did record the final phone call that I can email to someone if they need proof of this interaction. I thank you so much for taking my complaint into consideration.

Original Creditor : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for supposed debt : Accounts Research , Inc. XXXX , TN XXXX RCVD call from XXXX XXXX , stated he was trying to conduct research and has returned mail for me. He wanted to confirm my address was the same as what was on the returned mail, I told him to just resend it to me as addressed. I asked him again who he was, since I have a large relation to XXXX 's, and he said he just had gotten some of my mail by mistake and wanted to make sure I got it since it was from my bank. No big deal. However, I felt weird after the call and did some research and found he is a collector for a company who changes it name often due to not following collection practices. They used to operate under XXXX XXXX XXXX. So, the big issue is that this account with XXXX XXXX had fraudulent activity and was closed. A lady from the fraud dept with XXXX XXXX called me, I believe in XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX, and informed me the account had been locked due to activity. After reviewing the charges, they were determined fraudulent. The disputes were processed, and once processed, the account was to be closed with any remaining proceeds mailed to the addesss on file. I have not had any further correspondence from XXXX, so due to my own assumptions, I thought this matter was resolved. I have called and left a message for XXXX, in collections, with XXXX XXXX. I have since tried to communicate with the debt collector and that went nowhere. I will not resolve this debt with anyone other than the bank directly. XXXX XXXX lied, multiple times, when I asked who he was/with. Every time he represented himself as a provate citizen just trying to do the right thing.

On XX/XX/XXXX, I paid my account in full with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( listed under Accounts Research Inc. ). And on XX/XX/XXXX, I sent a letters to XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX to notify them that the debt has been settled and paid. However a week ago, I noticed that on my three bureau credit report report that XXXX XXXX is reporting a new balance on my account as well as reporting it as a new charge off with notes on the account that is simply not true. My score dropped 64 points. I called and spoke to a representative with the company and she apologized and said that she will update the information and it will be deleted off of my credit report. Fast forward today on XX/XX/XXXX, I woke and noticed my credit score dropped another 32 points because they decided to keep posting this as an active and open charge off when that is a lie the account has been paid in full as of XX/XX/XXXX. This is a CLEAR violation of my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act to be reporting this on my credit report for reporting a debt as charged off when you settled or paid it in full and misstating the balance due.The account was opened XX/XX/XXXX, it has reached its statute of reporting time of 7 years anyways this year on XX/XX/XXXX. I demand that this account be removed from my credit report with all 3 bureaus immediately.

I received a collection notice from a third party debt collector regarding debt from an XXXX XXXX clinic in which I had never been a patient. I called to let the collector know that the debt was not mine, and the agent tried to extract information about other people in my household. I refused to give the agent information about another individual, and he disconnected. I called back to reaffirm the fact that I did not owe the debt. The agent again tried to extract information from me about another member of the household. I refused to give the agent this information again, and he disconnected the call. The debt has now appeared on my credit report, and caused it to fall some 32 points. I do not owe this debt, nor should I be expected to act as a liaison between a collection agent and another member of my household.

I received a call from a XXXX XXXX who apparently works for Accounts Research out of XXXX, TN. He was attempting to collect a debt from a previous bank I used ( XXXX ). This was the most unprofessional and rude human being I have ever spoke with. He also claims he has attempted to call myselfand my fianc before, but we have no records of that ever happening. He also asked if I 'd received the letter about the debt and I said yes but before I could respond to tell him it was from the bank itself and not from a collection agency he was talking over me again making court threats and that he did n't care what my situation was. This company is not even BBB accredited and I do not like the fact that he has any of my information. This needs to be handled.

Account Research is harassing me for a bill which is owed by my spouse. I have contacted the billing services and spoke to someone named XXXX I explained that this is not my bill and I was never treated by XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, TN. XXXX advised me that since it is a medical bill I am responsible for my spouses charges. My spouse is XXXX years old and responsible for his charges. I asked them to stop sending the bill with my name on it they have now resorted to sending the past due bill to my place of employment. This is a cheap ploy to shame me into paying for a bill that is not mine.
