I am trying clean up my credit history. In XXXX, I called XXXX XXXX to enter into a payment plan to resume payments on a {$14000.00} debt. XXXX XXXX said they wrote the account off in XXXX or XXXX. I can no longer access my XXXX account online or by their automated phone system. In am no longer able to pay {$500.00} per month since I have been unemployed since XX/XX/XXXX. My financial situation is further complicated by the coronavirus outbreak. I had attempted to make payments from my unemployment benefits. XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX is attempting to attach my bank account. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX filed a civil complaint against me for judgment in XXXX XXXX favor for {$8700.00}. XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX states that they are attorneys for XXXX XXXX. Correspondence from XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX discloses that they are debt XXXX. XXXX XXXX will neither confirm nor deny XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX claims. XXXX XXXX, XXXX has entered a Praecipe for Substitution of Counsel on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I wrote a letter to XXXX XXXX requesting confirmation the XXXX XXXX XXXX is representing them in this suit. I have paid to date {$2300.00} on a settlement amount of {$6000.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX. Although requested, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX never validated the debt. I have not received a statement of account. I have not received a payment history from XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX. The documentation submitted with the complaint contains incomplete and misleading documents. In this day of debt collection scams and in the abundance of caution, I am trying to determine who I should pay to resolve this debt. I have been contacted by numerous debt collectors and an attorney, who claim they are collecting the outstanding balance in XXXX XXXX named.

On XX/XX/XXXX, I settled an old debt for less than the full amount. I was told, in writing, that the account would be settled for that amount. Today, I received a notice that there was a change on my credit report. Instead of it saying the account had settled in full ( for less than the entire amount ), they simply lowered the balance. I have called the office multiple times over the past few days and have a hard time reaching anyone. I have been calling because I have a court date with them scheduled for this Tuesday ( XX/XX/XXXX ), and it doesn't appear they have informed the court we have settled. When I finally reached someone earlier this week, they told me they were sending a letter to the court that afternoon. However, I spoke with the court this morning, and they informed me that the date has not been cancelled yet. I feel like the company has been very disingenuous during this entire process when I am simply trying to move past a difficult period in my life. I am attaching a copy of the settlement letter, a copy of my proof of payment of the agreed upon settlement amount, and a copy of the screenshot showing the updated credit reporting information as of this morning.

On Thursday, XX/XX/2020 at about XXXX XXXX an armed XXXX with a bullet proof vest showed up at my private residence to serve me papers of an apparent credit card debt from the Ratchford Law Offices ( XXXX, PA ) aka XXXX XXXX, XXXX, aka a debt collector. I had no previous knowledge warning including letters or other forms of communication. I was blindsided by this whole event. Not only was I blindsided I am in immense fear and have been having nightmares since this XXXX showed up at my home. My emotional response has been darning. The point is not whether or not I may or may not have the debt they accuse, but that these debt collectors are using XXXX and the courts to scare and intimate people. The small claims courts and magistrates are just as bad by allowing this to proceed especially when most people are in debt and can't afford an attorney. I have asked the debt collector for more information and they have yet to comply. My " court '' date was moved from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, to now XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX.I can't afford to take time from work for this.The statutes of limitiation in PA to collect a debt is 4 years. I think this may be past its expiration date.

XX/XX/2022 report was pulled because I'm trying to buy a house previously and the company wasn't on my report when pulled previously then I was told on this date they were. I called company listed and they passed off to Ratchford Lawyer. Spoke to them as well on XX/XX/2022 I said this debt was paid can you send me in writing the amount owed for proof. They agreed. I've been waiting a month now and every time I call them or original creditor they say they can't accept my money because I dispute then after I get some letter they can allow me to pay. I call at least once a week since XX/XX/2022 and they deny me paper and " letter is coming '' I said it takes a month? " I guess so '' so I finally said I guess you don't want to be paid and hung up on XX/XX/2022. This is holding me back from approval for a mortage. They have never called me nor sent me anything until my credit was pulled for a mortage. Even now they don't call me. The creditor they bought debit from sends me offers for credit!? I just want off my credit and they will not work with me and refuse payment so stop reporting!! Can you please help me?

On XX/XX/2020 I was approached but someone from Ratchford Law Group PC at my residence. I was handed a letter and was told that I was being served and that I had to make payments or criminal charges would be brought against me. The letter states that I owe XXXX XXXX XXXX {XXXX}. Under ( 15USC1692f ) a debt collector may not use unfair or unconscionable mean to collect any debt! This is the first violation. The second violation with this is ( 15USC1692e ) false or misleading representation. This letter states I owe {XXXX} but my credit report states I owe XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX This is a clear violation and shows that this company is attempting to collect a a false amount from me that is not owed or had been validated. Under ( 15 USC1692 ( d ) no debt collector can engage in any type of harassment to abuse to any human with the collection of a debt. As I stated, someone from this company was at my home and threaten to purse criminal charges if I did not pay. Furthermore, this letter also has many violations of my consumer rights. Please find this letter attached.

This is a credit card debt that is from 2014. The creditor is XXXX XXXX. I was laid off in XXXX of 2014 and used my severance pay to hold me over until a new job but the severance ran out first and multiple of my creditors fell behind. Now XXXX refused to make arrangements with me and now I find out a law firm represents them levied my wife and I checking account putting it negative {$2300.00}. We live pay check to pay check and we live off 1 income. The lawyer is XXXX XXXX attorney # XXXX. I am willing to make arrangements minus fees and whatever this lawyer cost.

Received calls from XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, PA. I never received any written notification. They did not provide any validation or verifying information. I do not have any debts in collections. It 's harassment and a violation of the FDCP to call someone who does n't have a debt in collection. Moreover, it 's harassment and a violation of FDCP to not provide written notification or validation.

The Law Firm of Abrahamsen XXXX has been calling me for the last year or so. I had asked last year for either proof of the debt owed or for them to stop calling. Neither has been done. I have run my credit report - there are no active debts on my report. I 've resorted to blocking their number on my cell phone, but they continue to call at least once a week.
